Tari always had star talent and impact, as well as all-defensive potential. He just needs to focus on taking care of and improving his body, going hard on recovery each game for health, and adding skillsets to his game/reads. I like the load management, and he keeps improving.

If Tari and Amen hit thier potential, we're championship contenders for years and may have a shot at winning it all long term. If Jalen hits as well, we get scary.

I love Tari, but let’s not forget that he has the potential to be a constant injury concern. I still think he may be best as a perennial 6th man of the year. Jabari is going to be an outstanding Pf starter on our championship team.

I think Tari is a much better player currently when healthy than JSJ, but JSJ is in a good spot for his age. I think one of the Rockets strengths has been the sheer number of wings/forwards the Rockets can hound teams.

Short term, I like FVV and Brooks, but would trade them for a star that overlaps with their position/role. Long term, I see Amen and Sengun as starters with one of Tari/JSJ starting and the other as their backup. I'd still like JSJ to fill out and be the backup small ball center whether he's the starting 4 or not.

Naaa, best would be to sign both of them on as cheap contracts as we can this off season. Try to sign Tari for less by a long term guaranteed contract now that gives him security despite injury concerns. Adn try to sign Jabari for less also since he hasn't broken out yet and is now coming off the bench.

Ideal scenario is we keep both and they are our long term 3 and 4 if healthy and they can even play 4 and 5 if needed and they could be a terror for opposing teams both on offense and defense. In my opinion it would be stupid to let go of Jabari. He's coming along slowly but will eventually be a super solid player. He has the ideal traits of someone who can help a team win titles, play tough defense, good shooter who we know can shoot even better and will improve there as his mechanics are great, doesn't look to be a star and ball hog and hunt his shots too much..

We need to keep both of these guys

I'll tell you what...Tari is hitting the J, and looks much more fluid on all fronts.

    Damn.

    Stay healthy, Bad Man.

I’ve been a Tari doubter for a while. I’m slowly changing my mind.

Started really strong this season, had ups and downs with injury, but is trending upwards again. Basically is providing value in ways that don't overlap with stars until Amen makes that leap (which will be an odd star).

Amen I'm not worried about hitting his potential. If Jalen can consistently play like he has been, then we go from fringe contenders to title contenders easily. His progress lately has been very promising. As always with him though....can he keep it up.

As president of the Tari fan club I feel justified in saying:

loved how he played in the 1st half, but I saw a lot of bone headed mistakes through the rest of his minutes and it looked like that continued into a meltdown. My man hurt his team with the ejection/tech because he couldn’t control himself. I love the fire, but Tari can’t act dumb like that again. He’s done stuff before, like going into the stands; we just can’t have him do that stuff. He’s too good of a player and the team needs him. He needs to cut that sh#t out.

    That's good enough for a 17th pick.

I think you just have to look at my post history to see how big of a Tari fan I am. That said, I’ve always had issues with his awareness on the court (not his instincts, those are amazing) and they were on full display tonight against the 6ers. He’s GOT to be better on the fast break, if he never passes it up, sure…but then he’d better make the shot damn near every time.

It feels to me like all the injuries have taken away valuable development time for him. Out of all of our guys, it feels like he’s still the most similar to how he was when drafted, and while that’s alright, I have higher expectations for Tari Eason.

Listen. I love him. But we have to keep in mind he is young and will do dumbsh*t from time to time. He needs to slow down a bit sometimes and stop doing dumb fouls.

He is on the short list of untouchables for me on this team.

Given where Tari is now and his injury history, I think it makes sense to give him a Dillon Brooks type contract. i think that is more than fair considering they are similar level players, with Tari being younger and having some upside, but also have concerns over his availability. Jabari has even more upside and is two full years younger, so I am guessing he may get a higher ACV.
