"In fact, recent reports have indicated that the Rockets' general manager Rafael Stone may contact the Milwaukee Bucks this offseason to put together an offer for their dominant 2021 NBA Finals MVP and two-time league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo." LOL. Its sources, those mysterious "recent reports," are a Bleach Report article titled "Predicting Every NBA Team’s Top 3 Offseason Trade Targets," in which the author just posits trades that he thinks make sense for each franchise. No evidence at all that the team has even imagined this trade. Move along, folks. Nothing to see here.
As Jalen Green passes up Corey Brewer in total points and assists scored as well in some advanced metrics like OWS and VORP likely before he turns 23 years old can we finally admit that a certain poster in this Rockets message board is not the best person to listen to about player evaluations?
I would not trade for Giannis in any reasonable circumstance almost tbh. Hes 30, has always relied heavily on his athleticism and would cost an insane amount of assets.
Boooo boo this poster He has done more than pass up Corey Brewer. See Zeeshan2 posting #12128 of this thread.
Good find. I don't think a lot of fans see that side of Jalen; the improved defense, the rebounding and the playmaking. They just look at scoring and statics
The numbers still don't look much different aside from the 3P% and FT% being up a couple points over his career average, and scoring being up 1 point per game... and yet I'm forced to agree, eye test says he's a lot better on both ends. I hope next season it translates into a really noticeable breakout and he gets some serious all-star consideration.
he talked about impact does he mean Jalen now has at least positive BPM and Net Rating? because he's still ranks last among starters
It can just be a random made up story that deflects from it. I was debating it with a poster who actually said (paraphrasing) Jalen's supposed to be a scorer so his defense can't be a big part of his value when comparing to another SG. So crazy to me. He deepened this narrative by theorizing that a player can lift their team more with scoring than defense so that makes scoring more valuable. No thought went to the fact that all 5 have to play defense but there's only one ball on offense. No thought to the litany of people who sink their teams with overshooting. You can't over-defend. Offense can turn negative if it's too much or too little. The game is beautifully perfectly balanced and no player has ever not benefited in their impact from improving defensively. Still we're stuck in 2025 having to debate someone who can't believe defense is mathematically half the game for every player, every team and in every single era. Most important of all, that's what Ime wanted to improve first. Now Jalen improves dramatically and suddenly it's not a big deal. On the bright side we're inching towards a situation where Jalen is becoming undeniable. You can tell because the nitpicking and mental gymnastics are looking more and more out of place each month. People can see bobby and DD for who they are in this context. They were never preaching caution, that was a disguise. They just acted like they were part of the "legit criticism" community. I said a long time ago, those people will always always always find a reason to keep disliking. If you don't brush such stuff under the rug (defense) then how can you maintain the charade?
JG's playing both sides of the ball.Cleaned up his shot...getting to the line...hitting the boards..distributing. The kid's really tightening his game. Our team is getting scary.
Why haven’t the coaches reigned in Jalen’s 3’s when they aren’t falling. He can get any shot he wants…
