They need to air that in commercials following the ads of Tulsi tooting Trump's horn. Seriously! But, they won't.

They are trying to be cute. They've been there so long they think this is just a game which to them it is.

There is no disagreement in the party that voters are increasingly turning to TikTok and Twitch personalities rather than network news anchors to help make sense of the world. But more than four months since their election nightmare materialized, Democrats still seem uncomfortable making the necessary adjustments.

“There are a lot of outlets to go to. The problem is that many Democrats haven’t found those outlets or are not showing up for those outlets because they think that spending their time, energy, and effort on broadcast TV, for example, is going to be effective,” Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker told me in an interview last week. (FWIW, he swore he wasn’t just saying this because he was talking to a reporter publishing on Substack and YouTube.)

The 2024 election was supposed to be a brutal wake-up call for Democrats. Donald Trump won the election by taking advantage of alternative media and building a campaign on viral moments. MAGA had (and has) the most powerful cable channel, the most popular podcast, and the most hyperactive social media site.

Democrats pledged to become more literate in the world of social media, podcasts, and influencers. Their funders hinted they would invest in newsrooms and explore acquisitions themselves. But party operatives I’ve talked to say little of that has happened. Democrats still look stale and unimaginative when it comes to media engagement. Worse, some efforts to grab attention have backfired—making them look even more out of touch.

When I asked strategists and party officials why they think this has been so hard for Democrats to figure out, most acknowledged that the party is suffering from an authenticity problem. The party’s leadership is older. They’re not fluent in social media, and they don’t particularly care or understand what it takes to be—and it shows. On platforms where users yearn for genuine connections, Democrats appear to be trying too hard, like when New Jersey Rep. Josh Gottheimer had to confess to sharing a fake “Spotify Wrapped” full of Bruce Springsteen songs.

In recent years, Republicans have dominated, adopting a posture of aggressive posting, ubiquitous podcasting, and even building up and acquiring social media properties.

Democrats have gone in the opposite direction, paralyzed at times by an extremely risk-averse culture when it comes to media engagement and dependent on a professional consultant class to message test just about everything they do.

Looks like a campaign add for opposition. Man Lutnick is an idiot. But of course the democrats will be too stupid to utilize it.

    Inflation DOWN
    Gas prices DOWN
    Egg prices DOWN
    Mortgage rates DOWN
    Gov't Waste CUT
Stock market eases, enabling us to buy at great prices.

This is what an economy that works for EVERYONE looks like. Biden was all about government spending and inflation which was great for me (high wealth), but awful for most of you (poors). It was a fake sugar high that left us in high debt, drove up inflation, and created a national security concern due to being in debt to other countries. Trump will create REAL WEALTH for all Americans.

I don't ever stop and think about grocery prices, gas prices, or mortgage rates. Doesn't really affect me. But it does affect most people and the Democrats STILL don't understand that their policies of tax and spend are just plain awful for the working and middle classes. They just don't understand the economy -- which fortunately voters can now see.

    GOOD DAY

Not to be contrary but egg prices down are the equivalent of a 50% sale at a jewelry store.
That 50% off is from the 75% mark up.

Gas has been steady around here. Have been at the $3.16 to $3.24 mark. I thought I heard it was supposed to spike this week. Have not seen that yet.

Biden's bird killing is what caused the egg prices to spike -- Trump is bringing prices down. Inflation is rapidly falling -- exactly what voters wanted.

Biden prioritized the rich with his economic policies. Trump is prioritizing all Americans. And the stock market will roar once rates come down.

I wish you were right. But a deliberate recession killing demand is as bad, or worse, than inflation.
I believe the post-WWII American golden age is over, and it was deliberately ended. Americans across the economic spectrum will be objectively worse off with Trump's imperial, autarky driven domestic and foreign policies.

Well of course a London-based magazine doesn't like Trump. He's putting America first and improving the gains from trade with all other countries. And he's openly mocking the UK's prime minister, who's a woke buffoon.

Tax and spend (Democrats) as a policy led to massive debt and high inflation. Trump is course correcting.

TJ, our post WWII economic prosperity over the last 80 years has been based off of exploitation of weaker economies and keeping the former major powers minus Russia pacified under our influence. But that's over.

We can have fully onshore manufacturing from the lumbar, coal, ore, and gas/oil to actual finished good, but at the end of the day, it will cost more capital than it would under the current free trade model and due to advancements in automation, the number of jobs added will not offset the fact that the people can no longer afford the lifestyle they've grown accustomed to.

The global economy is not the same as it was in 1950 where companies like Bethlehem Steel and Armco Steel could make steel for the entire world. Our steel companies have either been bought out, folded, or are just keeping pace when compared to steel giants in China, Japan, EU, and India.

Our economy over the last 30 years is based on a technological lead in semiconductors and information services, but now we have China and East Asian Tigers entering that space.

Frankly, we lived through a good era. And that era is now over. And the transition into the new era will be painful.

I use no alt accounts - none. And you don't argue with me because intellectually, you are heavily overmatched. But that's OK -- at least you recognize it!

What are the economic indicators you'll be monitoring over the next 4 years to determine whether Trump's economic policies are actually working well for Americans?

This is a good point and this is part of the problem with the Democrats right now.

They had a good run - some going back to the Clinton years and Obama years.... but the Democratic leadership is now old and out of touch.

Chuck Schumer --- Nancy Pelosi -- and others controlled and some still control who moves up into positions of power, and even younger people moving up are those that the old establishment want - like Hakeem Jeffries.

It isn't to say that these older politicians haven't had success - because they have, but they are out of touch with many of their potential voting blocs.
