Texans trade Laremy Tunsil to Commanders

I am sure they tried to trade him

 

Im okay with a release.

 

Texans know Tunsil better than anyone else. He's obviously very good, but probably not good enough to get the contract he was looking for.

 

If the OL is worse next year, ex NFL Head Coach Ryans will only have himself to blame.

 

Hard for the line to be marginally worse than last year.
The D will keep us in every game.

 

Yeah...Tunsil being named captain was a desperation move to induce him to step up and be a leader.

 

Grading this move really depends on what the Texans do next to shore up the OL. If they can turn those assets into a decent trade for a solid Linemen it could be a great move.

Tunsil was the #1 most penalized player in the league last season. He drew 19 flags including: 12 False Starts, 3 Illegal Formations, 2 Offensive Holding, 1 Unnecessary Roughness, 1 Ineligible Downfield Pass. He's getting older and may not be as mentally astute on the line as he once was.

I don’t blame the Texans from moving on from Tunsil, but I want to see the next moves.

 

Unfortunately we have to just hope they can trade him off after June 1st. We lose way too much money by trading him early. They should have never signed him to that big contract.

 

That one where he slipped on the G at midfield, I think our kicker did as well that game, right?

 

I was done with LT last year. He isn’t going to change who he is as a player. I do wish we had also gotten Washington’s pick 61. I’m not going to fool myself into thinking ‘no problem, they got this,’ but they have to nail this FA/draft. The pressure is on and Demeco isn’t afraid to take risks, even when there’s a safer option on the table
