The Democrats need to be able to give people something to aspire to or an ideal. I don't agree with Trump's vision, but he at least has one - a return to when the USA was great. For the Democrats that can be something positive like the pre-amble to the Statue of Liberty or a return of the middle class. This of course ties into what you are saying - having a common enemy to blame for perceived problems. It should be so easy for the Democrats - the enemy is the billionaire class and those that are beholden to them. Hell - Trump is literally setting the stage for the next Democrat populist to emerge...... from tariffs, inflation, tax cuts for billionaires, cutting benefits, cutting consumer protection agencies and worker protections. Whomever emerges will be very good at reading the pulse of the people - communicating it effectively and will be bold and savvy with the media... they may even compromise some traditional Democratic positions to win over certain Republicans or non-political people. Short of Democracy being effectively erased - or some unforeseen amazing economic growth - it is inevitable to happen.
AOC has a better read on the pulse of certain groups of people than anyone on either side of the political spectrum. That is because she isn't far removed from being a normal person and she also expresses herself very well - she understands women and urban minorities under 50 better than anyone out there.... I don't know if that is a big enough demographic, but with her charisma and ability to communicate, it is possible she can gather enough other interest groups to be a force. If I had to bet my money - it is someone that no one is thinking about that emerges, possibly someone without a lot of formal political time in office..

Biden was the only canidate who could've beaten Trump in 2020. What exactly should democrats have learned from Biden? Kamala ran an awful campaign and allowed Trump to run 300 million dollars of trans ads connecting Kamala and she did zero pushback. Harris could've easily won the election if she had a better campaign.

Violence and destruction will not be a result of leftists successfully propagandizing. It will come from more Americans being spread thin and reaching a breaking point. People like you simply can't understand that political revolutionary violence is born from material conditions. This goes both ways. The Nazi fascist regime wouldn't gain traction without the material conditions brought forth by losing WW1 in the manner in which Germany did that resulted in massive labor movements that scared business owners and where media was blaming leftists and Jews for why Germany forfeited the war.
