Astros have been lowkey lucky to be in the AL West. The AL is indeed wide open and the NL is an absolute gauntlet (except not really in the Central)… I don’t see Cam starting the season with the Astros unless things have gone really bad injury wise. I’m excited for him, but he’s 22 and was drafted last June. Let him get some reps and let other players get some opportunities. He will get his chance no doubt

This is traditionally true - but this is 2025 and Dana Brown is the GM. Smith has taken a lot of extra work at RF before/after games. I think if Smith doesn’t make the roster it will be over service time issues or because he stops hitting - not over right field.
There's more to Spring Training than the few games you watch. If he doesn't get out there in the next few games, then yall are all onto something.
Gwen, SMH As long as the Stros have the pitching they've got a chance. If Dezenzo and Smith can come through with the bats, or they trade for Arenado this lineup is deep enough to win another WS even if Dana has to make a deal for an OF at the deadline. I get why McCullers said what he said, the Stros did lose 2 great players and I'm sure they were his friends. But adding a GG 1B and a solid 3B isn't chopped liver. Like I said this is going to comedown to pitching and LMJ needs to get healthy and do his part to contribute.
Him being looked more and more as a platoon guy has sapped a lot of value. At first I thought he was being kept out of trades by the Astros… now I’m not too sure.
But if they get off to another slow start, and the OF/offense is a **** show… won’t help anybody if they then call him up based on “need”.
I checked out when I got to “I jumped on the Astros bandwagon in 2022”. It’s a nice article on fandom but has zero credibility on whether the dynasty is over or how the team will perform this year. For the record, I expect 92 wins and another World Series, with a trade for one more bat before the deadline and surprisingly good years from McCullers and Wesneski, plus Whitley emerging for the 7th inning.
Gamel-level value is probably a 40th percentile outcome for Melton. Calling 2 total career fwar Meltons ceiling is silly.
I made it all the way to where, right next to her name, her title was listed as "Audience Producer" So I clicked on it to see her bio...sure enough, she's an Aggy
