Prometheus really should have been the story that begs to be a series instead of a movie. I have no idea what this series is about but I really would be hesitant to bring the story to earth. At that point you really are making more of a Blade Runner story than you are Alien. Ridley Scott has even said the two films are written in the same universe essentially. Maybe that’s not canon officially but it’s implied.
FX "When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet's greatest threat.” Along with Chandler, the series' expansive international cast includes Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille, and Moe Bar-El., Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille, and Moe Bar-El. @Buck Turgidson
The Fargo Creator has already said it is nothing like Prometheus, I think they are even erasing the Engineer story all along. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/m...awley-prometheus-alien-prequel-fx-1235787276/
That's interesting from the showrunner Hawley. I think it's not a great idea though to totally dismiss Prometheus and Covenant from the timeline. Alot of fans do really love Prometheus and Covenant might age well over time. I think where a series like this could be interesting (but it doesn't sound like it's going to do) is really explain how in between Covenant and the original Alien how humanity basically took a major step backwards. There's a story to tell there about how AI maybe backfired, and sort of took humanity back to simple tech that its sort of offline, and then you really enrich Alien, Romulus, Aliens, and really Alien 3 as well. The Xenomorph is an important element of course, and moves the plot for all these films but I certainly think there's a bigger story here about the working class in space, and class system etc. with a greedy corporation, etc. that there's still more story to flush out imo. We'll see what Hawley does here but i am probably more interested in a series that links Covenant to Alien and shows how AI took everything down, and set us back to the "Used Future".
I have absolutely loved everything Noah Hawley has made. That coupled with how much amazing cinematic gold there is to mine from the Alien universe makes me very, very excited about this show. Can't wait.
probally my favorite ip, worried budget might not be great since i feel a massive budget is needed to make space sci fi look good. trailer didnt show anything so hopefully turns out be amazing
I'm a big Alien fan, if this is not woke I will subscribe to Hulu for it...... Looking forward to it....
No, I just don't want forced woke content..... In the original Alien, Ripley was not a girl boss. She was scared and we didn't even know she was the main character until later on in the film. She was smart and resourceful and that's what kept her alive, I just don't want any girl bosses that end up destroying a xenomorph with some karate moves or forced trans/gay characters taking the spotlight away from what Alien is about.... Don't get emotional bruh...
