To get past Congressional oversight, Elon is a temp assignee who can't exceed working at his position for more than 1/3 of a year. He can be appointed to a different position right after but that allows both him and Trump the chance for face saving exits if it doesn't work out.

Every time I see Lutnick speak, it reminds me of one of those DEI hires who get hired into notable positions. Rambling nonsense and no cohesion. "Qualified" carries so much subjective meaning here. For example "empathy" would be a core trait of qualification to be a "good" president for me but not for you. You might believe the ability to gamble successfully in our speculative economic system with inherited money and assets qualifies someone to be president when I don't think it has any bearing on being a "good" president.
