Devin Booker hasn’t had a field-goal percentage lower than 46% since the 2017-2018 season. That’s before Kevin Durant ever joined the Suns. He also shot 47% in his one season at Kentucky. While I agree that Green would get better spacing in Phoenix, and Booker would have worse spacing here, it doesn’t change the fact Booker has consistently been better than Green as a shooter.
Devin Booker is a better scorer, shooter and playmaker than Jalen Green. He’s worth Jalen Green and a couple of first-round picks. Phoenix would hang up the phone in a second if Stone tried offering Green straight up, and they certainly would not give the Rockets picks and Booker for Jalen Green by himself.
2 things: Cam might beat the **** out of him if hes still here Rachel Nichols looks not good anymore.
Wow , was the Kentucky team coached by Calipari? It had: KAT Willie Cauley-Stein Trey Lyles Tyler Ulis Now these players may not have done great in the NBA; but they were college studs. Only losing one game. -------------- In 2018 Suns were 30th in 3P%....28th in ORtg.....19-63 record. Nobody gives a fudge bar how good his FG% or 3P% is......nobody cares what Jalen Green stats were while we were tanking and led by Silas. As a rookie Booker has had the luxury of having vets surrounding him. His rookie year he had: Alex Len Markieff Morris PJ Tucker TJ Warren Brandon Knight Kris Humphries Tyson Chandler Eric Bledsoe Chase Budinger In 2019, Suns were 16th in 3P% Oubre 35.2% Rubio 36.1% Bridges 36.1% Saric 35.7% (big that stretches the floor) Cameron Payne 51.7% Aron Bayne 35.1% (another big that stretches the floor) Cameron Johnson 39.0% 2020, Suns 7th in 3P% 2021, Suns 9th in 3P% Bridges 36.9%, Cam Johnson 42.5%, Ayton 36.8%, Shamet 36.8%, Aaron Holiday 44.4% **When has a Jalen Green team (Rockets) been better than the 20's in team 3P%? 2022 Suns 7th in 3P%, year Durant arrived at trading deadline. Had: CP3 37.5%, Cam Johnson 45.5%, Bridges 38.7%, Craig 39.5%, Damion Lee 44.2%, Saric 39.1%, Durant 53.7% You forget about Cameron Johnson. Mikal Bridges. Ayton, Saric creating spacing pre Durant People seem to think SG's just step off the bus and hit baskets.....forget about needing to warm up by getting a few layups and free throws. Only Steph does that.
Yep, but he never talked that much nonsense when he was younger, stuck to date the Kardashian. Just not a leader he envisions him to be given his age.
Of course but I expected more leadership on the team that drafted and groomed that MFer..... If he cannot do that, you expect him to do that exact thing on a much younger Rockets? I get that you trade for his 26 and 7 stats but I would be damned if he cannot throw in leadership. Basically you gamble your Playoff future on that poor son of a gun.
Cont'd from post #65 above Rockets 3P% ranking since Green entered the league: 21/22: 21st 22/23: 30th 23/24: 23rd 24/25: 27th 24/25 freq of shot by distance Player.............0-3.......3-10........10-16.........16-3P........3P Green.............19.8.....17.6.........5.4.............10.6.........46.6 Booker...........10.2.....17.0.........19.1...........12.7.........41.0 (red shows where Booker shoots more of) 24/25 FG% at each distance Player...............0-3......3-10........10-16........16-3P.........3P Green..............67.7.....41.5........28.3...........35.9..........35.6 Booker............65.4.....48.6........53.2............49.6..........34.6 So Booker likes those 3 ft to 3P line, but if his teammates aren't contributing to 4th in NBA in team 3P%.....is the defense able to key on Booker more in those mid-range areas? I say yes.
Make no mistake, a good get....but Durant has been better than Booker, and that is saying something about the young man. They only win 17-18 games with Booker alone.
Devin Booker is not only shooting well because he’s getting optimal spacing and wide open shots all the time. Teams have been game planning on how to stop Booker for years now, as he hasn’t averaged less than 22 points per game since his rookie year in 2015-2016. He still has 43 games in his career with 40 or more points and eight games with 50 or more points. Among those games with 50 or more points is a game with 62 points and one with 70. His lowest FG% since 2018-2019 is 46% on high volume. His career free-throw percentage is 87%. All of this shows he is one of the best shooters and scorers in the NBA. Jalen Green’s best FG% in four years is 43%. The difference between their shooting percentages is significant and cannot simply be explained by the quality of their teammates. Since Jalen Green entered the league in 2021-2022, here are their true shooting percentages: Devin Booker true-shooting percentages: (2024-25) 59.4, (2023-24) 61.1, (2022-2023) 60.1, (2021-2022) 57.6. Jalen Green true-shooting percentages: (2024-25) 54.8, (2023-24) 54.1, (2022-2023) 53.8, (2021-2022) 54.7 If Jalen Green and Devin Booker were traded for each other today, the Rockets’ offense and shooting numbers would improve, and the Suns would get worse.
Do we though? I keep seeing these reports, but I'm not sure I buy it It's generally from the least-reliable journos And it makes some sense, but not like, a lot of sense. IDK, man.
Durant is a better shooter than Booker. His career field goal percentage is 50%, and he has shot 39% from the three-point line and 88% from the free-throw line. He’s one of the best shooters in NBA history, and that’s why I’d like to have him on the Rockets if the price was cheap enough because of his age. Also, that tweet was from December 2020.
