It's not even close to an extra 35 mil a year. Next season booker costs 20 more and season after 21 million more. When will jalen "enter his prime"? And what will his prime be? Will he be a top 30 player in his prime? top 50? top 75? top 100? If Jalen does improve, he opts out and gets more so the salary will be basically the same at that point by the time jalen is "in his prime".

No one thought the Mavs would trade Luka. Booker isnt as valuable as Luka was either.

I just don’t think booker is good enough to justify this. Jalen could easily be better than booker in 2-3 years, Booker is a known quantity at this point. He’s obviously good but I don’t think he’s good enough for us to really go after him. I’m more comfortable gambling on Jalen’s potential, even if he never ends up as good as booker, booker doesn’t move the needle enough for me

    Umm...
Check the 3FG%. That's the point!!

No doubt Booker is something of an upgrade, but the question remains as to how significant of an upgrade that is, and what it is worth?

If im getting book its not for young players AND picks. I will give you your picks back but with salary filler.

I dont believe it happens tho. All reports are he wants to stay and they want to build around him. Dont blame them, they have no ability to rebuild.

So trade durant for vets/assets and retool around book.

I don't get the interest. He actually reminds me of Kevin Martin. A really good offensive player, but a detriment on defense. We know he can't carry a team. He made the Finals that one time, thanks to an easy path. A Lakers team with and injured AD (Lakers were up 2-1 when AD got hurt), Nuggets without Murray, and the Clippers without Kawhi.

I'm not a Jalen Green believer, and I wouldn't trade him straight up for Booker. He is simply not worth his contract. Guys like Durant and Butler would have been purely hired guns, but at least they are legit chances. Booker is fools gold. Doesn't mean we couldn't win it all with him, but I promise he would have to be no better than the 3rd best player on the team.

And the defense would be in the toilet.

You said Green is shooting better than Booker this year before you ever referenced their three-point percentages, which is inaccurate. Booker is substantially better from the field and the free-throw line, and that matters when we compare their shooting abilities.

    This was your original quote:

Do you think you're missing the point??

    Look at the original question
Shooting reference was all about 3FG% - that is the spacing we need. Not expressly stated as it was assumed that is the need. But again, sideline to the question.

Well, there's also the matter of Jalen's 3 assists per game as opposed to Booker's 6.7.

Granted, Booker plays more PG, and has KD as a shooter. Still.

Your shooting reference was not only about three-point percentage, otherwise you wouldn’t have said “and Green's 3pt% this season is the exact same as Booker's career number.”

Also, Booker’s better mid-range shooting ability would help the Rockets’ offense, as would his reliable free-throw shooting considering the Rockets are last in the NBA in that category.

    I’m not missing anything.

    No thanks on Booker.
I would like to see what Sengun-Bari-Tari-Amen-KD could do. I think that might be a decent lineup.

Suns are 4th in 3-pt shooting as a team.....meaning room for Booker to operate (higher FG%)

Just wait until he comes to Houston ranked 27th and has no room to operate (lower FG%)
Forced to be predominantly a jump shooter from distance.

    https://www.teamrankings.com/nba/stat/three-point-pct

Jalen Green would make out like a bandit in that Suns offense and have a much higher
    FG% as a result.

Chris Mannix and Rachel Nichols are outside NBA Sources, not inside NBA Sources.

Both have lied on these rumors.

Yes. I think that was addressed in my first post which raised a question. That question was the point

You're well wide of the point.

Read the first post you quoted again and try and find the main question in play there.

Clue: the main question is not "who shoots better"
2nd clue: you're not yet in the ballpark of providing an answer
