Is there really anything to support the claim that FO requires Ime to play certain players? Not sure if Stone can push Udoka around like he supposedly did Silas.
I mean, yes, if you get to arbitrarily decide starting point and end points of comparisons to specific other players, then yes, you can make Jalen Green look like Mitchell. You can also make Amen Thompson look like Scottie Pippen, or Sengun look like Jokic. But once people use some common sense, like would a team that has actual Donovan Mitchell, Nikola Jokic, and Scottie Pippen be on pace to win 47 games in a season? The comparison looks silly.
I believed Jalen averaging 25 PPG and shooting 37% 3P or better would hide his defensive shortcomings. But his TOV has also increased with his improved offensive production. Jalen currently 2.6 TOV, which is career worst (his highest average monthly turnovers have been last 2 months - 3 TOV per game).
its only increased because FVV is out and he’s handling the ball a lot more, it was 2.2 before FVV went out and still isn’t horrible compared to his peers …he had a couple stupid ones last night that I hadn’t seen in awhile (dribbling off his foot) and the lazy pass to Bari
Jalen is getting better as a scorer but the difference between him and Booker is drastic when it comes to setting up others and being a playmaker. Booker averages more than double the assists than Jalen while turning over the ball the same.
I'll help you understand. I've posted 10, 21, 41 and 82 game splits. All of these have been called cherry picked. I've posted his season stats when they were peaking AND WHEN THEY WERE AVERAGE and it was called cherry picking. Which leaves what exactly? To post the season stats only when he's in an especially bad part of the season. You don't seem to understand how to hold two thoughts and that's ok. You seem to think that if we post 82-game stats that we forgot his season stats or that we're secretly conspiring to deceive you. This is going to sound harsh but I mean it blandly: it's not our fault you can't hold those two thoughts simultaneously. And you can't be paranoid about us just because you can't or don't like to do it. Those are his 82-game stats and "these" are his lesser current season stats and it provides a layer of context. It's easy for us. The 25 games at the end of last season have the exact same TS% as his last 25 games of this season - there's nothing that would wildly swing it, it's a decent simulation. So do you see how the brain works invisibly to close every option to something that you don't like? That's an actual psychological phenomenon. If you don't like something, you are instructing your brain to give your body a feeling of discomfort towards anything that reminds you of it. You don't know you're doing it, but everyone else in the world posts various types of splits to address a certain phase or context but you just have a problem with it. If you don't like it, just don't do it yourself.
Please don't overestimate Udoka. It's been 1.5 years and all we've seen from him are intense expressions, no-nonsense talk and the "play hard" thing. I admit he's good at motivating players, but I believe it's because we have so many impressionable young'uns. (Even with them his tough-love approach has been flaking for a while.)
All I did was post his last 82 games being better than his last 62 games. If you take issue with that, maybe you should tell BRef to give Jalen Green better recent stats.
Did I misunderstand you? I read your post to mean that this 82-game sample people are sharing is cherry picked. If i misunderstood, my bad.
No, just common sense that you're not allowed to bench the newly paid $100,000,000 player because doing so all but eliminates receiving anything of value in a trade.
Booker assist come from KD and Beal for most part Last night JG hit Alpi for 3 wide open jumpers around FT line and guess what brick brick brick …. How many times has he made the pass for the person to miss the layup and then tip in their miss … you can’t judge his assist rate on a team that doesn’t shoot anything well
Jalen avgs 6.3 potential assist … majority of his passes are Alpi in PnR in our offense He avgs the same as FVV when it comes to secondary assist FVV does avg 11.5 potential assist … guess why (JG) is shooting lol
Agree that inference is strong but thought maybe there was a soundbite or local media postulated something.
Potential assist is a pass that results in a shot. It doesn't matter if the shot is made. You can't blame teammates of not making shots for the lack of potential assists. You can maybe partially blame the offensive system we run. Jalen is 45th among 56 guards who played more than 30 mpg. That's about 22 percentile. He's behind Coulibaly who plays on the worst offensive team in the league. https://www.nba.com/stats/players/passing?CF=MIN*GE*30&PlayerPosition=G&dir=1&sort=POTENTIAL_AST
It’s not only the failure of our shot making - replace Sengun with any PF/C who can make a middy at decent rate and JG assist numbers would go up since most of his actions in our system is off the PnR his high assist games comes when Dillion and Bari are making shots …or when Alpi was hitting that push floater shot put like shot he’s abandoned Cam Tari Amen etc aren’t great for assist because they don’t catch and shoot at even a 30% clip Next game watch and count how many times he passes for a direct shot and it’s a brick
