Don’t be a sore loser bro. There’s no way to rationalize conversation or thought with libtards like you. I got flamed for being anti vaxer on this board, back when we all knew it didn’t work and that it iwas only meant for comforting the mental midgets like yourself. Just more lies and propaganda your side spews. And I should clarify it’s this type of blind lunacy I don’t understand.

You can eat a d!ck. I wouldn’t piss in your mouth if your guts were on fire! MAGA will continue to live rent free in your head.

I don't really understand the "i wouldn't piss in your mouth if your guts were on fire" thing. The way that insult is supposed to work is that you say you wouldn't do thing X, which is supposed to be really easy, to help someone, thereby conveying how little you care about them. But pissing in someone's mouth while their guts are on fire sounds kinda hard.

Well, Son, you stand up on the top of this thread and just gaze around at the stupidity below you.

Daddy, can't we just run down there and start ignoring every random stupid person we see?

No, Son, you let them identify as idiots, then you walk down there and then you ignore them all at once.

    Can the Astros get pardoned?

Especially since the other teams were also cheating.

Never heard that before in my life, and I've been around a bit.

You must have really hacked somebody off.

As a really rough cut, he is 27th all time in War. There are 87 pitchers (I believe) in the hall of fame.
Ok, so that’s a counting stat- how good was he at his apex? He didn’t win a cy young (but a ton of guys in the hall didn’t) but he finished 2nd in cy young voting 3 times and also finished 4th 1 time. Thats pretty damn good.
Did he come up big in the clutch? I don’t know- is an 11-2 post season record with a 2.4 era good? That seems really ****ing good to me.
He was 27% better than league average for the entirety of his career (first ballot guy CC I mentioned earlier was 19% better I think). The average era plus for a hall of fame pitcher is 130, so that puts him dead balls on 50% better than half and worse than half.
The average HOF pitcher (again half better and half worse) had a 59.1% winning percentage. Schillings was 59.6%.
So, WAR which might not be perfect has him in the top 1/3 of all pitchers, winning percentage has him slightly better than top half, era+ has him barely outside the top 1/2, and he’s one of the most accomplished post season pitchers ever that also finished runner up 3 times for the cy young behind some incredible Randy Johnson seasons, had another 4th place finish, and out the cherry on top of all of that by being one of the most accomplished post season pitchers of all times who was hugely responsible for a couple World Series wins and also got a pretty shitty Philly team to the brink of winning it all almost singlehandedly.
Yeah- that’s really good evidence that he’s clearly better than half the pitchers in the hall of fame. If you want to make the case for some reason that he’s not I’m willing to hear it.
That kind of combines all the things I think of with greatness:
    1) what’s your longevity
    2) what’s your peak
    3) how did you compare to your peers
*Bonus- how did you do in the big moments when all the pressure was on.

I don’t hold the bonus against guys because it’s a small sample size- but I do use it to give out extra credit.

A couple more- Black ink test he led the league in a statistical category 27 times (average is 27- again- puts him better than 1/2)
And in Jaws which combined longevity with peak he is 23rd which again puts him in the top 3rd of all pitchers that made the hall of fame.

I love how in between all the idiots arguing about politics there’s still baseball discussion going on lmao

You’re absolutely right here. Was too lazy to look into it deeper when I said he should absolutely be in the hall.

I’ll summarize it for you…he absolutely should be in the HOF based on what happened on the diamond only.
