Here's the thing though - billionaires aren't going to become trillionaires - they're going to get poorer as the economy collapses!

One of the greatest mistakes we made societally is to equate money with ability or perceptive ness, when in fact the accretion of money power & privilege is largely based on luck, winner take all markets, etc. if you heard Trump or Musk bleating in public at you, you'd leave, as there's a person suffering from a mental health issue

Case in point all the Galaxy Brain ceos lining up behind MAGA in November and now realizing "wait what all this stuff is actually BAd derp derp!".

They motivated reasoninged themselves into this , and we will all pay the price

We won't have science since we are letting Trump/Musk/Vought destroy all scientific research in the country and every research university but ..

....The rest of the world (Europe, China, India) will have science - and they will use it against us thanks to MAGA & Research University Enthusiast @Os Trigonum

    Trump to Musk:

"Just gut NOAA, scientific and medical research, and eliminate all global warming and climate change research, information and data, because RFK Jr and I can just pull sh*t out of our as*es, get our brown shirts to repeat is so the red hats will believe it. Remember how I had those idiots drinking bleach and buying deworming meds? I love gullible fools."

I'm sort of grunching, but can we stop calling Trump a conservative. MAGA is populist cult with some social conservative leanings. Trump is transactional, if anything at all. The only conservativism remaining is liberal pwning via destroying progressive leaning government structures. That's not really that conservative, not paying attention to function, purpose, and math. Sorry. Carry on with the poo flingin.

Billionaires are putting their money into recession resistant businesses, medicine, politics, housing, resources (and using credit to do it). They know money is worthless, even their stock prices are worthless (fairy dust house of cards prices).

It's the multi-millionaires that think they're somehow on the same playing field as the billionaires that will be ****ed.

Yeah see the assumption that billionaires have a secret recession proof strategy because they're geniuses does everyone a disservice.

This is simply untrue, particularly for the types that have seized control of the government - Musk wealth is largely based on equity valuation of his 15% of Tesla (which itself relies on the idea of infinite growth to maintain its highly overvalued share price)

They rely on them being kept afloat, this time by fraud & theft, like Musk - illegally canceling government contracts and then illegally - in defiance of dozens of laws - awarding them to his own companies.

He's not a super genius buying up real estate as part of a lex luthor scheme - he's exactly who you see him to be, a pickle brained neo Nazi buffoon who is addicted to posting, drugs, and who can't speak in complete sentences

I don't think Elon is a genius. Narcissist is the first thing that comes to mind. BUT - I think he is one of the BEST EVER at creating wealth for himself. The track record is documented. Proven. Hard to dispute real results. If you look up capitalism in the dictionary his face should be there. Then you have Trump, clearly NOT a genius, but also good at bending rules, skirting collapse and making money.

The top 1% wont be immune. 1% spans a ridiculous spectrum of wealth (it starts at 10-15mil). If you're at the bottom half of the 1% you are a nobody. It's really the top .1% we need to be looking at.

The top 1% (10% really, which includes a lot of us here) has already been supercharging their gains since 2019 through bailouts, printed money, 0% rates, lax new laws on taxes against sales of businesses. It's a self generated bubble. A ticking time bomb.

I agree with you. TSLA's days are numbered. It has been trading at idiot pricing for years. But Elon has already been diversifying. His brother got out completely.

There's Twitter. Land in Texas. Talks of Tik Tok or Open AI. You mentioned one path already. Government contracts. He's embedded himself into guaranteed billions through government contracts, data sales, etc... smart money knows REAL MONEY is worthless (it's why Blackstone buys houses, not money). Smart+ELITE money is using the tools available to them - Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission - the ruling that spawned an eventual plutocracy to buy policy, influence and politicians.

When the dust settles Elon might not have the 450bil available to him anymore, but his standing vs everyone else will remain the same - and that's all that matters. The "lost" wealth will be hidden, having been used to buy things (people, policy, influence) we cant track and some others we can (land, media, business).

Bottom line - everyone is ****ed. Top .1% will still be the top .1% and that's all that matters.
