What's the price for Naz Reid?

I honestly think he will get around 4 years / 120.

Seems a little rich for me, that's nearly Sengun money. I'd guess closer to the contracts Claxton and Hartenstein got, a little bit more perhaps. Maybe 4 years / $110M? ($27.5M AAV)

Jabari is pretty skinny and will never look like Naz Reid. Jalen Green is also another scrawny guy that will never bulk up much. Fortunately, they're both athletic but neither of those two will ever push other players around. Fortunately, the rest of our rotation has a lot of strong and physical dudes.

Naz Reid actually slimmed down from 264 to 234 to play the 4 spot + smallball 5 for the Wolves.

Man don't project your obsession with men's muscles on our players. The odds-on MVP favorite is one of the skinniest veterans in the NBA.

Jabari is a 6'10, 7'1 wingspan who is highly switchable and can walk on his hands upside down. Our defense and rebounding is much better with him on the court vs Dillon Brooks. You know, that muscular dude who barks a lot. Who actually finds something to hate about this?

Here are 2 more of the top 5 MVP candidates in their 4th year (both champions later):

    At the Draft,
    Rockets get:
    NYK 2029
    KYK 2031

    Nets get:
    Pho 2025 if 11-14.

If Rockets win lottery, keep pick instead.

I would pay that in one second. I think he will get 35m annually.

only person here who agrees with me. Most cf fans saying 20-25.

    this isn’t Ryan Anderson era.

plus Naz Reid is the perfect gamble. No mileage on him and he’s the perfect fit for what we need.

for the Jabari fanatics…. He will never reach Naz Reid level.

I want them both. Jabari can play SF. Amen, Jalen, Jabari, Reid, Sengun. FVV, Dillon, Tari, Cam, Reed, reserve center, new offensive coach = contender.

Who's going to pay him that much? Can't see Minny doing it.

There's only one team in the league that can create that much cap space without jumping thru hoops to do so - Brooklyn. Would they hitch their future cap space on him?

Rockets can't offer that without a S&T which would hard cap them at 1A .... and that would be difficult even letting FVV walk.

Are you sure about the math? Landale, Adams,Tate,FVV, and Jeff Green coming off the books if we want. I'm not being disrespectful, just wondering how we couldn't come up with 35m with only Sengun and Jalen making more than 30m.

I have a feeling Immanuel Quickley would be a great replacement for Fred. Someone who is fast, was a good-ish defender under Thibs, seems like a hard worker. He's a little over 6'2 with a 6'8 wingspan (very good for his height). Really good shooter and really good assist/TO ratio. Good efficiency on offense, good off ball scorer.

    17-.3 ppg
    5.5 assists to 1.8 TO's
42/38/87 splits (very good shooting volume, can handle 6-7 attempts at this efficiency)

Downsides he's no massive scorer. Just a really solid two way player who can shoot. Reminds me of Maxey in a lot of ways.

He's still young so it wouldn't be easy to acquire him from the Raptors, but it's worth asking the price. Manageable contract at $32m locked in for 4 more years I believe.

Would you give up 1 or 2 FRP's for him? Significant upgrade over Fred I think.

Minnesota would work to cut salaries. Not sure about 4 years, but the 30M AAV is probably ballpark with his hot streak. Maybe 25M. On Rockets, they have 5M in space before 1st apron with FVV at 44M. Swapping 30M in salary and reducing FVV to 25M would create 25M in space below the 1st apron.

Not sure Rockets would want to send out $30M in salary for him, but staying below 1st apron shouldn't be hard unless Rockets make a trade for a star. Even then, as long as they send out a decent chunk of salary, that wouldn't be tough. It would be more with what Minnesota wants and likely finding a third team to take Rocket salaries.

My bet would be Minnesota around $25M AAV with them shedding salary to help their books.

Absolutely positive on the math - Spotrac has the exact same figure I calculated for the offseason - $19,293,049

One caveat - they can decline Jeenathan Williams, Jock and Holiday and get to $23,745,918 which would include incomplete roster holds.
