He started out like that in his first G league game too....then he realized he had coaches there who supported him and he chilled out on the way to scoring 49. If Jalen Green, Jabari Smith, or Amen were benched every time they missed a shot or made a mistake as a rookie, they would have averaged about 4 minutes a game and the narrative around them would be VERY different. Having short sighted coaches who look for any excuse to pull you, who won't even allow you to get minutes in the G league, is something that would harm ANY rookie. Hopefully he can overcome the disadvantage of Ime.
Yeah, he didn't hesitate with his shots. I'm sure someone has told him to let it fly and not think too much.
I don't know where that last rumor came from. All I remember is Reed not being mentioned much for no other team than the Rockets. In other words, we were always doomed to go through this.
Lemme guess, Jeremy Lin and Candace Parker also hate Brickpard just like Ime Udoka amirite? Every excuse in the world for Brickpard lmao.
Try to look at how Jalen is performing compared to Brickpard. Why dont YOU have some self awareness??? Can't believe you are still talking down to Jalen when Brickpard is struggling to score 4 pts a night and hitting 3s worse than Westbrick ever did. Tell me again how Brickpard has almost perfect shooting mechanics? Somebody forget to tell him that cuz yet again he shoots 25% from 3 Every game Brickpard bricks from 3 just tells us over and over again how clueless you really are.
honestly he was fine the other night. at this point i'd much rather have Reed work through the yips than watch Holiday get torched defensively and chuck on the other end.
Notice how even when BtG criticized Jalen in the past, he never felt the need to resort to calling him "Green-tard" or anything of the sort. You want to criticize Reed for whatever, it's understandable. He hasn't had a good rookie year. Calling him names like you're an 8 year old makes you sound foolish.
Oh if I said something like that there would be a group here throwing a loud b**** fit and likely doing all they can to attack the site itself.... we've been through it before. However when knuckle draggers like this guy does it they are silent, funny how that works.
Are you really suggesting we compare how a 4th year player who has been catered to exclusively since day one to a rookie who has never been given any real opportunity by a coach that has no interest in developing any more young players at all? Come on kid, this is dumb even for you.
Even as a rookie Jalen has performed leaps and bounds over Brickpard and thats him being almost a year younger too. What lack of opportunity are you even talking about? Sheppard has played 41 games and averaged 11.5 mins, thats almost a quarter a game! Still not enough opportunity for a scrub averaging 3.4 pts on 31% FG? I guarantee if Jalen was so bad he was averaging 31% FG he wouldnt get playing time as well, KPJ and Daishen Nix would eat all his PT. Instead of blaming Ime Udoka why dont you admit Sheppard is not playing at the NBA standard at all? 31% FG you think thats an acceptable standard for a 6'1 guard in the NBA? Maybe if he wasnt such a scrub he'd get more than 11.5 mpg ever thought of that??? Its ridiculous to read all the hate you have spewn at Jalen the past 3 yrs and then you go all out defense on a dude shooting 31% from the field. Pathetic AF. Its pretty clear you have 0 clue what you are talking about, watching a clown perform is always amusing. Did Jeremy Lin ans Candace Parker never give Sheppard an opportunity? How come he was 0 in the AS games he played in? Doesnt matter who the coach is Sheppard is not an NBA level player this year.
oof so he can be on a loser team and jack up as many shots as he wants and the rockets would get something tangible out of their #3 pick or perhaps trade it for a better guy? very early but appears lose lose for both parties
Yeah he just said Green is the next Corey Brewer? Kept insisting Green would never be a starter level in the NBA? Said Green was the worst player in the league? You are the foolish one here. None of those have any basis on reality Bobby just said them cuz he hated Jalen Green. Those arent criticisms those are just insults. What does Corey Brewer and Jalen Green even have in common besides both are black players? Corey Brewer entered the league at age 21 and averaged 5.1 pts, Jalen entered the league at age 19 and averaged 17. Reed Brickpard is closer to Corey Brewer than Jalen. When you state facts you arent making an insult. Brickpard is shooting 31% from the field what is else is that but a brick? Im just calling a spade a spade, when Brickpard stops shooting 27.5% from 3 and 31% from the field calling him Brickpard would be an insult. Till then its just a fact.
Some of you guys are going to feel really stupid when someone drags this thread back up in a few years.
25% from 3 is fine? Holiday actually contributed to winning the Twolves game, Sheppard was just a net negative when he saw PT.
Why? Even if he becomes Steph Curry 10.0 and wins 10 rings in the future it won't change the fact that he sucks this year. Why you cant say someone is bad when he is bad? Nobody is saying he will never improve his entire life. Just cuz somebody said Hartenstein sucked his rookie year doesnt mean you drag that poster 8 yrs later and say "See?!?!?" lmao wtf.
THIS IS WHY I DISAGREE WITH YOUR ASSESSMENT. Minutes should NOT be given, they should be earned! Jalen, Jabari and Tari were the best players on a BAD TEAM. And even though Jabari struggled his first yr, he produced defensively. So, if you are not producing at all, you should not play and we can ALL agree that. Jaylen Clark is a rookie on a good team, EARNED his minutes by producing. He went from the G-League to the NBA and now he's producing!
Obviously this is utter nonsense. Neither jalen nor jabari were even remotely close to being rotation level players as rookies. If minutes were only based on merit, neither would have played a single minute their rookie seasons, neither were top 300 players their rookie seasons (which is very common).
