    FVV/Green/Amen/JSJ/Sengun has sucked defensively.

FVV, Green, and Amen has not worked defensively regardless of who else is in the game. Offense is good.

I think it’s gonna be more Amen, Green, and Jabari in the next couple years

Tari & Sengun probably the easiest to replace

I feel like Tari has a lot of potential though if he develops a consistent jump shot. He is averaging 1.9 steals and almost 1 block per game. If he just finishes around the rim more consistently and can hit mid range/threes I don't see why we should trade him instead of Brooks.

If it was trade who will be the worse player, then trade Brooks. Tari has the greater trade value, because of potential for a building team. Dillon has trade value for a team that is already contending.

    Yup. Seems obvious to everyone.

Don't listen to Joe Joe, he seems to have something against it. Your preferred lineup had just 74 total minutes, most of which were when Jabari wasn't shooting well. Meaningless sample. Udoka will use it a lot moving forward.

FVV/Jalen/Amen/Brooks/Sengun has a lower net rating than your preferred lineup and Udoka has no issue with that (-5.8 vs -4.4).

The lineup data is whacky. If you go by it, we would have to use a lineup for which we only have 56 minutes of data. This one lol:

    Sengun
    Jabari
    Amen
    Brooks
    FVV

The stats claim this lineup is a comical +30. Try it in the playoffs lol. Obviously that's not reasonable.

When you look at 3 man lineups who have played 300+ minutes and organize by OFFRTG, it quickly becomes clean which four guys really run our offense. In other words, FVV / Green / Amen / Sengun need to start for the foreseeable future. I, personally, think Bari fits better with that group than Tari or Brooks, and I like the idea of Tari and Brooks coming off the bench together. But I wouldn't be surprised if Brooks starts and Bari comes off the bench playing starters' minutes.

    Offense isn't the problem.
Look at the defensive rating column.

The problem I see is that having those 4 together isn't much better offensively than having Sengun and 2 of the others. On the otherhand, having an extra defender tends to improve the defense dramatically over having all 4 in.

Also, just to be clear, if FVV/Amen/Green all have to start, I'd try Tari or JSJ over Brooks as I think they are better fits. I hope that works even if I doubt it does. JSJ or Tari would help on defensive glass and as low man. I just fear a lineup having issues with switching and rotating with Brooks is going to have more of those problems without Brooks.

I completely disagree. Offense is our major problem, and those defensive ratings are really solid. Right now, we are 4th in team defensive rating and 12th in offensive rating.

Tari also averages almost exact PPG + REB this season as Jabari. Except Tari averages this similar or better production in 7 fewer minutes played.

4th defensive rating and 12th offense is caused by play before Amen was a starter. Rockets are 12th in offense and 18th in defense since Amen has become a starter. I don't know how people can watch the Rockets the past month and a half and not notice the defense has gone sour. The offense with Amen starting was much better than 12th with Amen starting when FVV was healthy. FVV being out hurts both the defense and the offense.

Granted: This board has chosen its narrative that Brooks or the team (or Ime for running down the team) in general is at fault for the defensive slippage.

That’s really not a fair statement, because Amen starting isn’t what caused the defensive slippage. It’s the fact that we are banged up. All things being equal, you can convince me that Amen is somehow a negative for our defense.
