    I don’t know how long ‘temporary’ is
    Before the negative publicity affects new enrollment

    Do you have any evidence that UofH has more crime than normal for a university?

    In Texas? I have not but it’s usually word of mouth by parents and what is on and not on the news .
    Obviously this is very bad publicity

    USC in Los Angeles is not in a great neighborhood but it attracts top students and very wealthy parents because the university doesn’t have a reputation of lots of on campus crime.
    @Tomstro
    @Salvy

    they made movies about LA gangs and crime near USC but the campus is safe

    And you have no evidence it has more crime

    The link I posted at least had some, YofH had the 2nd lowest amount of sexual assault of the 6 largest universities in Texas

    If you try **** on campus at USC, the campus police will be on you fast and hard. They don’t play around. Very safe campus because of things that happened in the past. It’s not near the hood, it’s in the hood. They have a much bigger campus life than UH and police are everywhere.

    UH has changed a lot since my days there ‘92-‘95.
    Back then I don’t think there was even 1000 students living on campus and that counts the athletes.

    This is what the link
    @Os Trigonum provided showed
    what also matters is now and EVERY news station in Houston is reporting on the crime
    And the interviews with the students are not painting a nice picture
