I'm sure there was a conversation. Maybe he declined appearing? I doubt he was just "out in the cold". I would have liked to see him do a part of the news whiles he was there.
The Right is woke now, they couldn't take Tom Hanks and his MAGA portrayal - they want to cancel culture their way....... DD
I'm about halfway through. Had some funny moments but I wish they would have picked some more iconic skits to recreate than the ones they picked. Adam Sandler song was the best part so far. That got a standing o from the audience. Clearly lots of inside jokes. I think he started to tear up just a bit when he got to the part about Farley and Norm. But he pulled it together before anyone could notice.
Every 15 years an SNL thread comes up and everybody laments that it should be cancelled or so and so cast was the “best” and its been downhill from there, etc. It’s an institution… like a sports teams… sometimes there will be contending/awesome years, sometimes not, and as sports evolve (rule changes, style of play, different metrics, etc.), so do sketch comedy shows (digital shorts, push the envelope on the political stuff, musical numbers, etc.). People thought it was officially dead after the Hartman/Myers/Carvey era…. And then you get Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Fallon (despite what most people think about him, hes enough of a name)…. Then that era ends and you get Hader, Samberg, Sudekis (all have had success after SNL)… and there will continue to be more in the future. I’m expecting either Mulaney or Samberg takes over for Lorne when he finally decides to call it…. Or could even be Tina Fey… but the show will go on. (And honestly, what else are you going to put on network TV on 11:30 on a Saturday?)
Again, shut the **** up. You don't get to judge anyone when you abstain from voting. So **** off with that bullshit.
The only thing that bothers me is that they squeeze every last ounce out of a bit they can, just repeating it over and over and over until it isn't funny anymore. Would rather they try new stuff.
It's like everyone expects every single skit to hit every Saturday. The show definitely has its flaws but I think our culture would really suffer if it ever gets cancelled. It's the only show out there that parodies American culture. And American culture DEFINITELY needs to be parodied.
