Are you serious? A lot of poor white people on government assistance don’t view themselves as freeloaders - but view everyone else, especially those not born in the USA or are minorities that are on government aid are free loading scum. Why do you think that mass deportations are so popular with lower financial class white people and some black people? They want aid and resources taken from these immigrants and given to them… but they are so arrogant that they don’t realize that many Americans and many MAGA decision makers view them as leeches and burdens. Same reason so many poor white share croppers and agriculture hands supported slavery - they felt they were better than the negro… even though the Master exploited both of them.
Yikes. It's likely going to get worse before it gets better. Seems like the midwest region is getting hit really hard right now. About 4 million egg layers were culled last week in Ohio and Indiana. Texas has been pretty insulated so far. The last cull in commercial egg farm was in April of 2024. https://www.aphis.usda.gov/livestoc...za/hpai-detections/commercial-backyard-flocks
Yes and the entitlement that has been bred into Americans. I go to towns like Decatur Illinois and see the damage done to people and will have poor white people that have been on welfare and Section 8 for 40 years tell me that lazy blacks are to blame… I’ll go talk to black people in the town that have been on welfare and not worked for decades… and they will claim all the Hispanic immigrants are stealing their benefits….. yet no one talks about ADM or Caterpillar or Firestone leaving or cutting their workforce by 80%. The entire town is on government aid…. Yet no one seems to think they are part of the group of people that the middle classes and wealthy view as “takers”.
That I agree with. However America is highly resilient and adapts far more easily than other countries. Gen Zers are far more collective than previous gens. I'm guessing the adults will have to adapt when they come to terms with finances
Don't even mention the coal miners in West Virginia - or Cleveland or Detroit, we have done a lousy job of supporting change and keeping our societies middle class going strong. Eisenhower taxed corporations and the rich at 87%.......it kept everyone going and lifted the entire middle class.....we need to be much more like Ike. DD
Public opinion polls are over relied on. Most policy preferences in the abstract are not strongly held (and can easily be manipulated by the survey, which is why there's lots of conflicting results) Second, many take havers tend to think people vote based on these preferences, making rational choices - some do, but a lot of low-info & mis- & dis- info voters don't or will shape their preferences after they're told to, or just actively go against their preference and delude themselves otherwise
You know those people are making fun of the Democrats right? Do you really think someone spent the last five years researching whether or not the early bird gets the worm?
even if they are genuinely regretting their vote right now, they’ll go right back to voting for the Trump’s of the world and others who hate and target minorities the moment they are no longer being targeted/negatively affected themselves they were perfectly fine with others getting hurt, they just didn’t think they’d become collateral damage as well
New reporting today from Politico is another devastating blow to American consumers, with congressional Republicans eyeing legislative action to undo the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Overdraft Rule, which protects consumers against excessive and deceptive overdraft fees costing Americans billions each year. Overdraft fees affect a huge portion of American families with 17% of households with checking accounts paying overdraft or NSF fees in 2023. This action would open the door for $35 overdraft fees—a decision that would cost American households an average of $225 each year. “Undoing the CFPB’s overdraft fee rule is a gift to big banks and a gut punch to the wallets of millions of Americans across the country,” said Accountable.US Executive Director Tony Carrk. “Deceitful and excessive overdraft fees cost Americans billions of dollars every year, but the Trump administration and Republicans in Congress don’t seem to care any longer about lowering costs for Americans now that they’re in charge. this is sure to lead to more money in the pockets of millions of Americans
Trump’s America An 11-year-old girl in Texas took her own life after she was allegedly harassed by classmates who threatened to call the authorities and have her family deported. Jocelynn Rojo Carranza was a sixth-grade student at Gainesville Intermediate School. Her mother, Marbella Carranza, told Univision that her daughter endured bullying from classmates who taunted her and threatened to notify Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Jocelynn reportedly informed school officials on multiple occasions, but her mother says no action was taken. Jocelynn was rushed to a hospital in Dallas on Feb. 3 and died on Feb. 8. Classmates allegedly told Jocelynn that she would be all alone in the U.S. once her family was deported. The harassment became so aggressive, the 11-year-old was seeing a school counselor more than once a week. “I waited a whole week for a miracle that my daughter would be well, but unfortunately nothing could be done,” Marbella told Univision. “My daughter will always live for me, and I will always love her.” this is what these “I regret my vote” and pro-Palestine types voted for…they knew what it was when it comes to this administration and didn’t care
