Our high picks ...Considering availability, who did you want?

2021: Wanted Jalen.
2022: Wanted Paolo or Ivey. Wanted nothing to do with Jabari.
2023: Wanted Scoot but was fine with Amen
2024: Wanted Clingan. Didn't care too much about this one, the draft was so poor.

 

Wanted Chet or Paolo. In 2024 I was torn between Reed and Castle but I was enticed by Buzelis due to his size and perimeter skills and athleticism

 

2021- was okay with Jalen or Mobley but didn’t realize the rockets couldn’t get Mobley in for a workout.

2022 - wanted Chet or Paolo, but was fine with Bari #3

2023 - wanted Scoot, but thought Amen was the best pick at #4.

2024 - had Castle #1, Reed #2

 

1) Green because I thought he had the most upside.
2) After Paolo, Jabari because I thought he had the highest upside.
3) Scoot because I wasn’t sure if Amen was actually that good or whether it was because he was playing against poor competition, also was worried about the lack of shooting and how his athleticism would look in the NBA. After Scoot I wanted to trade the pick.
4) Reed Sheppard because he was the “perfect fit in theory”, also wanted Edey purely because I miss Yao.

Wanted Sengun, Got Green but then got Sengun too
Wanted Paolo
Wanted Amen even over Wemby because its clear Amen will win multiple titles and Wemby gonna get injured at some point
Wanted Clingan, never got the Reed hype.... Cfans convinced me he was amazing thou and now I'm sad I fell for it... He sucks...

 

2021- Wanted Jalen
2022 - Wanted Chet
2023 - Wanted Scoot
2024 - Wanted Reed

 

2021: Trade down for Barnes (thought he was Giannis Jr) or Jalen
2022: Jabari, Paolo then Chet (health risk)
2023: Amen or Miller, didnt like Scoot (small, cant shoot, health risk)
2024: Castle, got hated on for saying Sheppard was too small, unathletic and his 50% 3 pt is a joke due to low sample size. People just ignored all the red flags about Sheppard including his no show at March Madness and the fact Castle shot better than him in shooting drills.

Since paolo was gone I wanted Jabari, aka 6'10 Klay Thompson. Also really liked Mathurin
Amen but Ausar was close.
Castle but was cool with the Taxman due to the fit on paper. Please be good Reed.

2021 - i was fine w Green... figured he was most upside available
2022 - wanted Jabari... proj at the #1 and i agreed... i thought we were getting paolo and was fine - wanted no part of Chet
2023 - wanted scoot... i was good w amen...
2024 - idk, but i knew reed would be a bust and didnt understand the hype... obviously another Brent price or Bryce Drew... smh...

 

2021 - Wanted Jalen
2022 - Wanted Jabari
2023 - Wanted Cam at #4..
2024 - Wanted Reed, I was dead wrong..

 

2021: Cade, Mobley, Sengawd, or Jalen
2022: Jabari (really scared of Chet & injuries)
2023: Wemby, Amen (worried about his 3 pointer), Cam
2024: Ware AND Reed

 

Castle, Carington, McCain, Knecht all looked promising to me.

I did not do much of the homework on those drafts but I would cast a wider net on players.

Jaylen Wells was the one that got thru my fingers.......overlooked af. I would face palm.

 

2021: Cade than Mobely. Did not want Jalen. Also wanted Alp
2022: Only Paolo
2023: Was unsure of all prospects outside of Wemby, but thought Cam was a top 5 prospect
2024: initially Castle then CF convinced me of Reed

 

Thread title says “considering availability” so..

2021 - Mobley but understood the Jalen pick considering Mobley wouldn’t work out for Rox

2022 - Jabari since Chet and Paolo weren’t on the board

2023 - Amen

2024 - I think at the time Clingan since I felt like we needed more defensive bigs behind Alpi with Wemby and Chet in our division. Was fine with Reed cause we NEED shooters

 

21- wanted JG4 (no Sengun...wanted a rim protector/3-pt shooting Center), Garuba, Grimes no JC
22- wanted Jabari Smith and Tari Eason
23- wanted Cam Whitmore (or move back for Jarace Walker + Dereck Lively)
24- wanted any of Dalton Knecht, Devin Carter, Kel'el Ware, Zach Edey


I felt Udoka would have been able to make Jarace Walker a 3-point shooting Robert Williams

 

21- wanted Jalen
22- wasn’t sure, but I didn’t want Jabari once Paolo was gone. Wanted to trade back
23- wanted Amen
24- didn’t want Shepperd because his high 3 point shooting percentage was misleading, he only attempted 2 per game. I wanted us to trade back pick up more assets and pick Kelel Ware. (I still think this was a mistake by Stone)
25- I’m not sure, just pick anyone that can shoot. If it’s a high pick, trade back for more assets.
