Never in modern history have career DOJ officials resigned in mass like such. Trump pardoning Eric adams in a explict quid pro is beyond corrupt.

I generally think people in government need to stay and make Trumps goons fire them. Quitting in protest is kind of giving them what they want. Which is the opportunity to hire as many of their goons as fast as possible.

At the same time though people do need to feel pain for this stupid decision to vote for a corrupt autocracy. So people in government no longer serving the public and contributing to safety and securing is something that will make Americans potentially feel the pain of touching the hot stove. Government officials staying to do good things that makes Trump look not that bad…. Yeah I don’t think those folks should stay and do that.

These partisan hacks should have taken the early retirement offer.

The more that quit, the BETTER.

Partisan Hacks? Danielle Sassoon was appointed BY TRUMP

That's like all the idiots complaining about "Liberal judges" halting trumps freezes while most of those judges were republicans appointed by republican Presidents.

I often feel that way too, but there might be other, real-life considerations for them that makes getting fired unattractive. Like what that might do to future job prospects. If you hold out, Trump will demonize you in speeches, on twitter, everywhere. Insiders will get the message that you're an enemy and you'll be blacklisted not just from government jobs but from law firms, consultancies, and the like. There will still be jobs in institutions that are aligned against Trump, but it makes the pool smaller. So, I'll defer to them on what's the best way to go out.

Totally, and whose to say that me in their position would not do what's best for my family, and career over country. Most of the time this is why autocratic takeovers are successful. It's because the normal everyday people choose to support their family over dedication to ideal governance, or societal benefits.

The fact that we are even having this discussion is evidence that Trump certainly is winning his battle to reshape the United States from a Democracy to an autocracy. It would be nice if the "system" pushes back, but in the end "the system" is just normal everyday people with families, and livelihoods to manage. If someone is elected president that has the stomach, and the will to threaten normal everyday government workers, the system will almost surely fall to that autocrats will.

The right has no problem excusing a corrupt liberal and dropping charges against them if they do Trump's bidding.

Crazy. This regime is openly corrupt and no one seems to care.

Instead let's talk about wokeness & DEI, right @Os Trigonum ?

Pointing out that one AUSA was appointed by Trump doesn't prove your silly point. In fact, it strengthens my point because you can only point to one outlier. Furthermore, one can be partisan without being a Democrat... and there are many Republicans who are not aligned with Trump. My points all stand. I win again (without breaking a sweat).

This is a cleansing of our legal system that is sorely needed. For liberals and Trump-haters to self-select and quit... well that's as good as it gets! Restore the integrity of our legal system -- make it respected again. Not a weapon. That's the goal.

    GOOD DAY

So a partisan Republican is one who is not aligned with the de facto party leader. Okey dokey.

    That's their standard operating procedure.
    Are you surprised?

Any logical reasoning would require more brain cells..

@astros123 By any objective standard, I am far more intelligent than you. I don’t say this to insult, but rather to increase awareness in hopes of bettering yourself: Your posts make you sound low IQ and emotional. The grammar, choice of words, and organization of thought does not look and feel like an elite member of society.

Another conservative official resigns over this 3rd world nonsense...

Scotten, an Army veteran who served in Iraq and clerked under Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts and Brett Kavanaugh before he was appointed to the Supreme Court, chastised the president and the administration.

To be fair, Trump thinks he's more intelligent than most too. Your words quoted below sound like something anyone with an ounce of intelligence would be thinking after reading most of Trump's Truth Social posts.

"Your posts make you sound low IQ and emotional. The grammar, choice of words, and organization of thought does not look and feel like an elite member of society."

As you said, "I don’t say this to insult, but rather to increase awareness in hopes of bettering yourself."

You can't say Trump is intelligent or acts like an elite member of society by those standards without being a hypocrite
