I wouldn't go that far . . . obviously the cuts would have to come from somewhere. But to jump all over the "PEOPLE WILL DIE" assertion right from the get go, well, that's a little much. Or at least a little premature.

also, these kinds of preliminary budget proposals are almost always simply the opening salvo of what will be a long, drawn-out budget negotiation process. I'd be very surprised if much if any of this survives in its present form to the very end.

Not sure why Trump has not made an announcement on this already, its a no brainer that would pick up American morale instantly. Who doesn't like Severo?

CD's are too outdated according to @fchowd0311 , Severo should be broadcasted all over the world so that it can reach everyone.... FEMA should also be passing out band merch....

Or maybe they could avoid being cut so elderly refugees don't die.

Okay.....bro this changes nothing about the situation. If anything, the fact that they want to allocate more funds to border security and the military make it worse.
That's a whole lot of empty promises man. Thats what the author HOPES they would do. They are making budget cuts which means people are going to be taken off full stop.

Also clean energy tax credits being rolled back ARE A BAD THING. ClIMATE CHANGE IS REAL.

You can read @Os Trigonum article

The GOP wants to make large cuts to Medicaid,SNAP and other social programs while giving tax cuts to the wealthy, that is the proposal. I am not lying to you, that is largely what this bill is trying to accomplish.

I disagree that the bolded line is nothing--the WSJ reporting is uniformly excellent and can generally be trusted. If they say Republicans somewhere have discussed cuts that don't affect beneficiaries, I'm going to believe their reporting--particularly in comparison to the article from Common Dreams cited in the original post. Sorry, but that's how I see it. There is absolutely NOTHING in the original post that suggest PEOPLE WILL DIE.

The WSJ reporting is actually quite decent. It is all done through a financial lens and that skews some things. Their editorial board is not expemlorary in any way. It has an extreme bias towards the right.
