You have to raise the debt ceiling because with privatization comes profit motive to maximize return on investment for owners and shareholders. So we will get less services but at higher costs because Theil and musk need to extract some of that tax money.

The opposition party is always suppose to be a check on the controlling party. Just as there is fat that needs to be cleaned out, you have to make sure it's actual fat and that a new layer isn't just being put in somewhere else. Using a machete when a scalpel is what's needed doesn't give one confidence that they really care what they are cutting. Look, in all honesty, my concern isn't about Trump try to cut down gov't or cut taxes. I don't personally lose sleep over banning transgender rights, pushing back civil rights 50 years, or even deporting the guy who cut my lawn every week. It's dumb and pointless to me and doesn't really make anyone's life actually better. But what I am very uncomfortable about how China and Russia are benefiting the most from what Trump is doing. I also think his actions are going to F our economy in the long run. The problem with that is that it forces a lot of people (including myself) to start diversifying investments (globally) to mitigate risk...and that actually can weigh down an economy. People who praise his unpredictable and reckless style that keeps people on edge and "gives him an advantage" don't see the counter side to that. Which is one, it doesn't build confidence in the American brand from an investment standpoint, and two, it makes people not trust us as a reliable partner.
