    The Justice Department announced Wednesday it was suing New York state over its policy of limiting cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, with Gov. Kathy Hochul, state AG Letitia James and DMV chief Mark Schroeder in AG Pam Bondi’s crosshairs.

    “This is a new DOJ,” Bondi announced. “New York has chosen to prioritize illegal aliens over American citizens. It stops. It stops today.”

    So stupid. States have no authority over immigration and they receive no funding for it. Why should they corporate which makes their jobs harder to do. They are strapped for resources and depend on cooperation of all people to solve and prevent crime.

    I can't see how this can be won in court.

    They have crushed the Democratic Party into irrelevance. This stuff is may be good PR for the base...and give a good excuse for why they are failing - they do like to scapegoat a lot.

    But at some point soon, people are going to care about their lives, not about this stuff. So he better consolidate power before then.
