The least a lot of the pro trump folks should do is call out the hypocrisy. I've defended trump more than once, and have no problem doing so.

 

I wish more posters were willing to acknowledge hypocrisy on both sides. I could be better at it too.

It's quite telling how liberals are so opposed to transparency in government spending and an audit of the government. Their decades-long corruption and waste is being exposed. Democrats are choosing to attack the auditor (Musk/DOGE) instead of doing what's best for the country and cutting back on waste, fraud, and abuse.

Cutting government spending is a KEY PART of balancing the budget and ultimately shrinking the debt. It's what's best for the country. Yet Dems are mad because their honey hole just got raided. Typical selfish behavior from the party of waste and corruption - the Democrats.

Also, Trump's favorables keep rising.. especially amongst the under 30 crowd. They see past the government-funded (USAID) media's lies.

True transparency would be GOP politicians who have control of both chambers doing this auditing themselves through congressional hearings rather than the world's wealthiest man who has been fined and combative with these regulatory agencies for years telling you at face value that they are "cutting costs". That's like asking a wolf about recommendations to strengthen security of a sheep pen.

You trust the words of the wealthiest man on the planet to tell you that he's working for you at face value. That's how pathetic you are as a human. That is sad.


The real issue that the billionaire class has with "government efficiency" is that they don't just flat out own all the tax money themselves. That's it. It's not about saving costs. You'd eliminate the private public contract outsourcing dynamic that is rampant in our federal government that gives contracts to private entities where the goal is to maximize return on investment of the shareholder rather than performing a public good if you sincerely cared about "cutting costs". That's how you get private companies charging 1000 dollars for a clutch disc replacement on DOD vehicles that cost 90 dollars to manufacture.

What Trump, Elon and friends want to do is maximize that state by privatizing every aspect of the administrative state. USAID for example is a toolkit used by the federal government to expand and maintain US hegemony. People like Trump actually want that influence globally. So cutting cost isn't the goal here. He just wants to replace it with private contracts to entities like Palantir where they will charge inflated costs so people like Peter Theil owns more public tax money to bolster their wealth. That is the goal of this.

Privatize everything so capital owners own our collection of tax money.
