18th pick- Introducing Sergio De Larrea. You ate what? And got what? Reasons to take: Auto from three. We need a compadre, Delfino was the last one as Garuba didn't pan out. Atone for Daryl Morey's LLull Shot creator.
Dude has some Luka in his game .... ESPN might not have him in the first round right now but I think he might go before the Rockets get a chance ... One of the best shooters in the draft and has an advanced offensive game - pick & roll, floaters / runners & a very good passer. Potential offensive engine. Of all the prospects outside the top 4, this is the dude I want on the Rockets.
Edgecombe may be my favorite player other than Flagg. I'm not 100% sold on the three point shot, but I love the energy he plays with on defense.
His shot looked shaky in November, but he's now up to 38.5%. Not just catch and shoot either, he's moving around and coming off screens. Also 79.5% on free throws. Handle needs to improve to reach his All-Star ceiling, but he'll be a solid player on both ends at minimum. When Tre Johnson is on, he puts up some fun highlights. Definitely concerns about his defense and shot diet, but the dude gets buckets.
cause cooper flagg exists there is no need to overthink it. cooper flag is the best prospect in this draft and the best freshman in a long time
Flagg is definitely the best white american prospect in quite a while. Edit: I forgot about Holmgren. I think they're the same level of prospects. Hopefully Flagg will be less injury prone and can realize his potential better.
Skin color has nothing to do with it. Flagg is arguably the best American prospect since LeBron. He’s a better prospect than Zion. Length, defense are way better. Athleticism is a wash. Offensively similar, but Flagg has more upside offensively with natural facilitating. AD would be the only argument in my mind
I was thinking Holmgren, AD and a few others, like KD. Holmgren and AD far better impact defensively though. KD far better offensive impact. Perhaps Flagg is more balanced than all of them. More of a jack of all trades.
KD wasn’t necessarily the “prospect” he was coming out. Obviously the league got that wrong. KD is the best player since Lebron. I do agree that Flagg is probably the best two way guy
Michael Beasley probably also belongs in that conversation, one of the best freshman college seasons ever. 0.413 WS/40 is simply insane
AD was a better prospect for sure. Zion Williamson was a better prospect (although I never liked his body). Greg Oden was a more highly coveted player as well. John Wall as well. All of these guys were more highly thought of than Flagg, and there is an argument that Cade Cunningham was as well. Flagg is a very good prospect - and he may prove to be better than all of these guys, but objectively he is not at this point a bigger prospect than 4-5 American players since AD.
AD was the only one with an argument. The rest simply is opinion. Many pundits have Flagg up there, not even mentioning his play and ridiculous upside. That size, length, athleticism, defense and offensive upside is found in very few prospects. Wall, Cade aren’t in the conversation at all. Oden was overrated
