That's not all Amen does though is it? And neither does Simmons. He's great length, really good Defense, really good Rebounding, can run half court set which is something only FVV can do on this roster. You're selling him way short especially for mid-level money.

Yeah, that would be another amazing thing if it happened.

Top 3 in West is the definition of contender. Is this seriously a throwaway year to you?

Look at the bright side. If we do land him, all of a sudden our mediocre/bad shooters will all look great next to him.

You know what? Forget Ben Simmons, Markelle Fultz is a free agent. Would 100% rather have Fultz.

Everyone’s throwing names out. Yall know we are done signing anyone.

N Faly Dante and Nate Williams are the only names joining.

What half court set is bumass Ben Simmons running?

    y’all need to stop

No defense respects him, and since when is Ben Simmons still a really good defender?

100% correct. Rockets aren’t cutting Holiday for Simmons and certainly not Cam for Fultz. We’re done. Enjoy Springer tonight. Zeller gets cut unless they drop Landale to save money.

I just saw him play this past weekend in Houston and he still looked like an effective defender and a smooth passer to me. You aren't acquiring him off waivers for the vet min for him to be his old all star self but even the overpaid former all star with a back injury version of Simmons is better than 99% of waiver wire pickups - especially if the minutes you are asking him to play are coming from the Jeff Green/Tate/Landale/Reed (in a pinch as a ballhandler) types of limited situational minutes....and frankly I think there is some real value there if Simmons buys into the team culture here.

Believe what you want about Simmons' attitude, but his career has had him playing for two of the most star driven franchises in recent memory in Philly and Brooklyn(back when they tried to pull off the Kyrie, KD, Harden era). While he deserved a lot of the criticism, he was also largely used as the scapegoat for a lot of dysfunction that wasn't necessarily his to own. All I'm saying is - it's not crazy to think a culture change could do him some good and maybe gives Houston a chance to get some value on the cheap because guys with his talent ceiling being available for that cheap don't come around too often and as long as you negotiate a team friendly deal you can always send him away if it doesn't work out.

There have to be other potential buyouts more deserving of a thread than Ben Simmons. I know trade deadline has been a disappointment but his BS watch is a bit much.

Marcus Smart can teach the kids a thing or two on how to flop. Not knowing how to flop is our guys' glaring weakness.

Just play Reed Sheppard. If the front office thinks we aren't ready, then play the kids instead of some retread

I just realized if we were to get another guy then we would have to buyout a current player probably Jock.
