so many of these sh*tty red states are fcked…I’ll just sit back and watch it play out from the comfort of my living room Louisiana is trying to arrest and jail a NY physician for up to 5 years for prescribing abortion pills to a pregnant minor Do y’all know how many OB-GYNs are fleeing these sh*t holes? the pregnancy mortality rate is going to sky rocket Lord have mercy if we get some sort of health crisis under this administration
Those folks who are taking the dub right now will be in for a world of hurt when their "help" is taken away, let's see how they react when they see programs cut and they cannot get decent healthcare or food. There is so much chaos right now, no one what doge is really doing, no updates of what's being done, just lies and innuendo. The poorer regions of the country are going to be F`d and unfortunately that will affect quite a few red states. I am all for going in and auditing what needs to be cut, but this scorched earth policy where they dismantle an agency without some checks and balances are third world tactics used by dictators. For all those who want the country to run like a business you are going to get a dose of reality, billionaires think about the bottom line but the commodity is all of us, not a widget.
I'll take it even from a heathen although you should direct those prayers to those more so in need. Like the foreign countries the Trump admin has cut aid off from and will suffer even more than us simply arguing on a basketball forum... If you really cared about people of course... There will be such an increase of the sin of lawlessness that those whose hearts once burned with passion for God and others will grow cold. But hold your hope firmly to the end and you will experience life and deliverance.
The delightful thing about TB is that a large percentage of infected display no symptoms and only serve as carriers to infect as many people around them as possible and it is very difficult to diagnose easily just on presentation. Has Trump eliminated the CDC yet? Or does that come next week? Also, TB is especially virulent in people who have HIV, but since the government eliminated all mention of HIV on their websites because it is somehow DEI, I'm sure it no longer exists and we don't have to worry.
No - but this is just starting (social upheaval) and things can change quickly. I am not an alarmist and everything may turn out fine and maybe even some improvements. However - I see a severe lack of checks and balances… I see radical changes, some of which there appears to be little concern for risks… I see a lot of turmoil, more than at any point in my life and certainly the most since The Great Depression or Civil War… and that can lead to some very scary outcomes. I also see a left wing of the country that has the potential to be just as bad as MAGA if there isn’t a change. I am not abandoning my country - but we saw all the issues and aftershocks from COVID. What is being done in the USA right now is going to have some unforeseen consequences. I will make sure that my family is ahead of the curve because I am in a position to, when most people are not. If my wife or mother comes to me and says they want to spend some time in the UK for the good of the family, I will make it happen.
I feel or have concern for everyone but ultra wealthy who can go and walk away from any mess created.
It's not as scary as the 70s where leaders were taken down through violence and we had near shaves with nuclear armegeddon. The swings seem more chaotic and violent. The world shrank and while we were empowered with more choice, the impacts are more pronounced like some random guy's short paper for Nvidia causing the stock to tank by 600B The glee and spitefulness of cheering on the destruction of other Americans is new though. That's 3rd world pre-civil war ****. I guess outrage media isn't just a product, but a producer of negative energy ready to be culled and harnessed onto their own.
No - I think it is definitely worse than the 1970’s in the USA. There was certainly real fear of losing to The Soviet Union but there was far more stability in the US government and checks and balances… we can find examples in any age of fear and bad things… crime now isn’t as bad as in the 1970’s and there was lots of corruption at the local and state levels… but not at the national level.
Exactly this. We don't know things are pure crap but they could be and without the checks and balances. We do know that one person has access to take money from the Federal funds and the worst part is that he could erase any trace that he did it.
The nadir of this era could be worse than the 70s but we still aren't there yet. There are a lot of unsustainable things where the American public kicked the can down the line. They've become gordian knots and third rails. I'm not assuming Trump will handle them by cutting those knots, but it's also a matter if we still have the will to rise above and handle it rather than waiting for someone else to pick up the tab and responsibility.
