The Suns traded one unprotected pick for 3 low FRPs in hope of moving Beal. What a freaking stupid move. The only reason they aren't the laughing stock of the league is because Nico Harrison came along and one upped them. He was even kind of enough to only allow LA to give them one FRP because he wanted them to keep it a secret .
Likely, Suns are that stupid but I will believe it when the deadline passes. I want to find out after the fact what Stone was offering because if it wasn't making a real play that is stupid. I still think something could happen tomorrow. You don't negotiate with Miami and Golden State about a trade of KD without the intention of trading him. This tells me KD told them "f Draymond" and Heat cannot win but he does want to get traded and is giving them the space. There is no way PHX is not after getting some of their picks back. Durant is the obvious choice and they don't want to trade Booker and cannot trade Beal. GS and Miami are off the market, only Houston left with the RIGHT assets. I truly think it is just a matter of what they think they can get out of Houston. If I am Houston, Durant is worth LESS to me in the offseason than he is now. Don't want Booker and Booker and Jalen cannot coexist. Booker is overrated on assets required. Ant is probably untouchable, most other stars will have moved. Maxey is not getting moved.
With Jimmy gone, Phoenix's plan of replacing Durant with Butler and parts is down the drain. We're not even reported to be in this thing it's all speculation at the moment unless I missed something. Too bad. It's the right move and the last and only major one we'd need to make for a long time. Unless Durant and Udoka are close friends who can keep a secret that Shams doesn't know.
Are you talking about my Corolla? It was a gift from high school, plus it's the honey badger of cars.
I cannot comprehend KD's according-to-reporters trade value. I keep in mind that nobody knows anything. Look, KD turns 37 in September. Check out the link to the highest scoring36, 37, and 38 year-old player in NBA history. (He's under contract for the next two seasons.) Especially take note of games played and FG% percentage. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/most-ppg-for-player-age-36 https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/most-ppg-for-player-age-37 https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/most-ppg-for-player-age-38 36 is ugly, 37 is a train wreck, 38 is what you look like after a train wreck. KD is currently playing 36 mpg and on a pace to play 67 games this year. Betting on him would be insane. AND the Rockets are currently one of the best teams in the league! Can anyone refute what I've said in a rational way? That the Rockets should exchange their future to be a dark-horse contender? (Or not one at all, depending on what they would give up. You think adding KD and subtracting some of our best players will somehow put us in position to get past OKC and beat Boston/Cleveland in the finals? Pure insanity.
Not the end of the world if we don’t make a trade. Suns picks will just be that more valuable in the offseason
I don’t think they want Durant. Someone on here (@carl_herrera ? @Plowman ?) said it … Rockets have shorted or are betting against Durant teams (first Brooklyn, now Phoenix) But they do want the other (faux star) guy when and if he becomes available.
[Charania] "Even if you engaged in some level of conversation, the Phoenix Suns have always wanted to position this team around Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. And all signs indicate that Kevin Durant will remain a Phoenix Sun."
Ishiba doesn’t strike me as the guy that would sacrifice short term of having KD sell seats rather than long term roster flexibility. If anything I think they’d try to star swap Durant. Oh well, hope that pick turns into Cooper Flagg
