You just can’t be serious with this. Just an awful horrible gross negligent obtuse catastrophic trade proposal.
Okay, nice 2nd round asset collecting with Springer. Now let’s convert a couple of our expirings into additional 2nd round picks. Jeff Green, Jock and even Steveo should be getting heavy consideration in potential trades. I’d still like to see Rob Williams or Brogdon trades on the margins. Get er done!
What I don’t get it, is why don’t we just go get Jimmy? Dillon plus filler and a first round pick is better than anything on the market? He brings us the same toughness Dillon does while also being able to make a wide open shot which is foreign for our team? What’s the downside? Not like Dillon is part of our future anyways. The asking price for Jimmy is super low.
Really makes sense for us to burn a few SRP to roll over some or all of Jeff, Jock, Springer, Holiday, and even Tate for a defensive C platoon backup option and a G who can competently bring the ball up, do something in a PnR, and isn't bbq chicken defending backup wings on a switch. Stone has a history of being precious about keeping locker room bench guys he likes. Boban anyone? I'm not a fan of that mentality. We're in a spot where getting something from our 10th and 11th guys really affects our playoff seeding and momentum going into the offseason. Can't waste it. Unfortunately I wouldn't bet on Stone changing his colors. More likely he "works the phones", nothing happens, and waits for the buyout market. I hope not though.
"Rockets may or may not trade. With the deadline tomorrow teams can still trade until after deadline"
Let’s just trade our whole team and all our draft picks for lamello, Kawhi, Zion, Ad, and embid. What could go wrong’?
While I wouldn't want to pay a 1st for him, it means other teams, like the Lakers specifically would also have to fork one over for him. Imagine how we'd all feel if he got traded to the Lakers for 2 2nds, it would make me sick.
All they are doing is trying to make sure they are in contact with everyone so they can absorb a small contract and collect a second rounder or two when those other teams make their big deal.
If Chi really wants to reroute Tre Jones and Huerter then I could see us trading for one of them. Tre is a PG that doesn't turn the ball over (like Fred) and is young. I don't like Huerter as much but he has been a good shooter every year except this one.
