Nah you are clearly just a hypocrite. Tell me again how Sheppard needs lots of sample size to show he is a scrub but only one game to show he is better than Holiday. Other people have already pointed this out so you know you are just full of BS. If that is so obvious why does Sheppard have negative net rating while Holiday has positive? Clearly the stats show you have no clue what you are talking about. Tell me again about Sheppards almost perfect shooting mechanics shooting 28% from 3 and 41% TS? Oh wait he is just "rushing his shot" like that isnt part of shooting mechanics? Stop being ridiculous.
Agree with you….he still is rushing his shots. We’ll know when his game is fixed when we see him calm down and slow down his release. First step is to get to the free throw line which means he’s attacking. He’s had 1 game in 3.5 months where he’s taken free throws. Enough said!
Let’s go out the box and start the kid tomorrow night. Encourage him to take 10 to 12 three pointers, And challenge him to stay in front of his man instead of going for the steal.
Hate to burst your bubble dude but if we’re relying on the difference between Aaron freakin’ Holiday and Sheppard to win games then we ain’t winning ****. Besides, there’s a chance Sheppard might be better than Holiday by the end of the regular season. He might not, but I guess we won’t know. What I do know is we’re wasting time on Holiday, let Amen handle the rock and give Cam more minutes if you don’t want to play Reed. This some Bruno lob threat over Sengun ****.
Yes, Reed did well last night but you blowing it up × 10 is what boggles the minds of the average person.
You do know by playing Holiday over Sheppard currently has us ranked as one of the top 4 teams in the league right?
It took a good bit of time to bring Green around. I suspect Shepherd will be the same. Unless, the Rockets flip him to another team. If they do, I think they will regret it. He hasn't really had a chance yet.
You trollin’ or genuinely dumb? If you think the main reason we are top 4 is playing Holiday over Reed then you might have a job offer at Dallas HQ.
I'm sure you realize that's not what the guy meant, or hey, maybe you don't. His point is that Holiday can provide some semi-dependable guard play. He has the quickness and the NBA reps to capably play to our team's defense reliably. And he sadly might even be our best overall 3pt shooter. Reed will get worked into more minutes eventually. Ime tried pretty consistently early in the season, and as we all know, Reed wasn't ready. He's barely shooting 30% from the field, and gambles far too often on defense. Ime is trying to win games and he'll get Reed more minutes when he feels it's appropriate. I don't know about everyone else here, but I feel more inclined to trust Ime with all of these drafted young cats we have, and bring them along properly, then I would feel with any other Rockets coach we've had in a very, very long time.
Reed’s two shots he made were AMAZING!!! He’s moved up to number three in the all-rookie ladder. In all seriousness, with a toss away game with both FVV and Alpi likely out at NY, I am all for giving Reed 20+ minutes tonight to see if he can finally kick it in gear. Once again, judge his game not by threes (which we all know he’s good at) but by getting to the free throw line. Less than 5 free throws ALL YEAR! My expectation of a semi-aggressive Reed is 4-5 free throws in a 20+ minute game.
That guy has been posting about Devin Carter being ROY after he played well in the G-League, and saying things like “Kings are 4-0 since Devin Carter started playing” to praise Devin Carter. So no, I genuinely can’t tell if he is trolling or not.
Reed has been really bad thus far. Aaron Holiday is much better. As we are now one the league's best teams, we don't really have developmental minutes for Reed. His greatest value to us will be to use him in a trade to upgrade either before the deadline or over the summer. I think he has the potential to be a good player and still has a lot of value. He just has more value to a team that is trying to build something. I believe we're too good to develop Reed Shephard appropriately.
I'm trolling but you want to play a rookie who has proven over and over that he is not ready for the big leagues and will lose games? Reed has been so bad that we probably can't even trade him now. Nobody will take him. As a #3 pick he is quickly bustin out.
It’s more I don’t want to waste time with Holiday. He’s really not that much better than Reed and we already know what he is. A journeyman who’s not going to be on the team in a couple of seasons. Either play Amen on ball with more minutes given to Cam, or give Reed a proper chance after he gotten some confidence after proving that he’s too good for the G-league. Reed outplayed Holiday last game, let him have first crack next game. Or trade him while he has value for a legit win-now move. Or send him to the G-League. Sitting him on the bench playing garbage minutes is the least beneficial outcome for him and the Rockets.
Somebody in another thread that Ime said Reed would not play tonight, because of the defensive mistakes he made in the last game. Don’t know if it was true or not.
I could see Ime doing that, Sheppard embarrassed him last game by outplaying the guy that got his minutes on both sides of the ball and I don't think Ime wants Sheppard to keep making him look bad....it's why he won't send him down to RGV to play anymore. Every time Sheppard plays, it makes Ime's decision to not play him look more foolish.
