Vice President JD Vance’s trip to an island that President Trump wants to “get” was a scaled-back version of the original White House plan. “He’s not welcome,” one Greenlander said.

Vice President JD Vance spent three hours in Greenland on Friday touring a U.S. military base, on a contentious trip pushed by the Trump administration and angrily opposed by Greenlanders.

In remarks with reporters, Mr. Vance said the United States had to “wake up” to China and Russia’s designs on the island.

Very doubtful Greenlanders are eager to give up universal healthcare, tuition-free college education, very robust social and work benefits for an unknown and evolving system in the U.S. that under this Administration is weakening worker protections, education benefits, and social benefits.
