I liked his fight on defense in this one. They were targeting him and he held his own. He was a little more handsy, being a pest on drives. He was straight up brawling with Williams.
Cerebral, yes, more athletic guards can drive past him, yes. Liability on D, yes. Hence G League to play more and work on the things he needs to get better down there. No sense in him playing meaningless minutes in the handful of blowouts we will have.
There's no valid reason to ever play Holiday over Sheppard, as we saw last night. Sheppard brings more to the table on both sides of the ball.
His defensive positioning needs work, if slow footed players like FVV can play D, so can faster ones like Reed. He has always trailed his man and gotten steals from the side or back, he needs to stop that, and start working to stay in front of his man, it is a fundamental change, but it isn't all that hard...he just needs to commit to it. You are absolutely correct in this observation. That is playground defense and while he will still get steals with it he is more often just getting out of positioin. I have seen nothing from Reed that would suggest he will be ready for a bigger role next year. He still has half a year and the pre-season to change Ime's mind. I hope he does.

Last night, Holiday 16% from 3 Sheppard 40% from 3 And that's not even considering the other impacts to the game they made. I know you aren't one of the best or brightest around here, but I'm sure even sometime like you can see the difference between the two last night.... even if you are too dishonest to admit it.

When looking at a tiny sample of a rookie, it's best to see how they are playing most recently. When the majority of the sample is a rookie getting jerked in and out of the lineup that is doubly true. With Holiday, we know what he is, he's a guy that might give you 3 point shooting but nothing else....and sometimes he doesn't even provide that, like last night. With Sheppard, you get more defense, more smart play, better passing, and in the long run better shooting. Again, I know you aren't an honest person, so it doesn't matter what you pretend to believe....but I'm sure you know I'm right deep down.
He isnt getting jerked in and out of the lineup dude played in 33 out of 48 games. He played 1 less game than Aaron Holiday but Holiday is shooting better than him. All that BS you post ok lets judge Sheppard based on his most recent game. You're the one who said it not me.

Small sample sizes are a terrible way of analyzing players. Unless that player is Jalen Green and the small sample size shows he is a superstar.
No, it's simply due to arguing with someone i know to be constantly arguing in bad faith. I've done it far too many times in the past so I don't have patience for it anymore. I'd gladly argue the point with an honest person.
