Nah. If somebody is going to expose their shitty political beliefs in this forum, I’m going to call it out, even if those shitty political beliefs were masked with Fox News-speak.

Im sure you’ve noticed, but I post A LOT on this message board. Part of that is because many/most posters on this site are knowledgable and really great to talk Astros with. But another reason is because I’ve had to leave every other social media outlet behind because they’ve all become unignorably political. For the most part, this site has been the one place on the internet I can go chat about a subject I’m really interested in that isn’t constantly poisoned by the people who cheated off me in high school (and now have banded together to outvote me and work to undermine the credibility of all expertise across all facets of our society). 99.99% of my posts are completely apolitical. TBH I really don’t appreciate you calling me down while ignoring the dipshit who clearly migrated over from the political forum (which I never go to and know nothing about).

    LOL

All I said was get the political crap out of here

Obviously yes, i've noticed you post a LOT in here. Your contributions on the prospect stuff is typically a great read, and I think a large majority of the board appreciates it, I know that I do

But honestly, I don't care if you appreciate me calling you down on it or not. I didn't even read whatever post you were replying to until I read this reply. I really didn't care, just want to be able to come here for Astros not political crap.

So if you want to continue to blast your political crap in here I guess we will just have to deal with it. Personally I could care less what your political beliefs are, they don't affect me in any way other than having to read the crap on here

In any case, let's find a LF that can mash RHP

If you have no idea what I’m talking about then why the **** are you piping up. You’re either proud that you’re on team shitbird or you should just shut the **** up and stay the **** out of it.

    Wow

Actually i'm not on either team, I just don't think this is the correct board for political talk. And that's all I said

    Calm down

Feck off. You called out one side of a politically-tinged discussion, which happened to be the side that posts only in the baseball board and not the side that frequently posts in the political forum. Then you tried to laugh off my reply to be dismissive but all you really did is expose that you’ve waded into waters you can’t swim in. And now you’re demanding the last word like a toddler. Get ****ed, shitbird.

I am actually very opinionated and outspoken in my political and civil beliefs.

It's also getting harder and harder to not bring that stuff up in ANY walk of life because our country is so messed up- whether you think it's the Democrats or Republicans who are to blame.

But I do it because I love the Astros and baseball and that gives me enough material to think and comment about as a break from those things that I don't need to bring the other stuff here.

I did not call out either side. I don't care for either side

I simply said to get the political stuff out of here

And you call me a toddler while you are the one out of control, cussing me cause you think i'm on the other side of a political argument that i'm not even in.

Again, calm down man. As Congre used to say, talk Astros

It doesn't seem like Bregman wants to stay if he's taking this long to decide.

Waaaaahhh!!!! I wanna be the one to get the last word!!!! WAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!! Go find a titty to suck on you ****ing baby.

You’re allegedly all about keeping politics out of the board but here you are replying and replying and replying and replying about that very topic.

I’m tired of constantly having to kowtow to low-IQ ****wits. You wanna talk Astros? Happy to. You want to try to call me down about replying to a shitbird coming in from the political forum to spout redneck nonsense? **** all the way off. Then you want to hen peck trying to get the last word? Nope. You want me to calm down? Then shut the **** up and don’t reply.

    Eh

I'm sure he "wants" to stay

I'd be shocked if he took 156 million to play elsewhere

The only player we have lost through the entire run that I think would have taken an equal offer somewhere else was Springer (douche Cole doesn't count he just wanted to be a skankee)

But if the choices are stay for 156 million or leave for significantly more, a great great majority of professional athletes are going to go where the money is. It's easy for us to say "it's 156 million, it's more than you will ever need, who cares if you can go make 20 more million somewhere else"

But reality is, that's 20 million extra real dollars

Obviously i'm just making up a number, but I really do think Bregman's preference would be to stay. He just isn't going to give up a large sum of USD to make that happen.

True, but $20 mil is not real dollars when taxed in other states :)

He's third in WAR which takes both in account. He's a stud.

I think someone has offered 20 million more for the same number of years. So he has to make the decision if 20 million is worth losing the potential legacy that Astro lifers have. I'm also pretty sure the extra 20 million is from Detroit and I doubt his wife really wants to live there.

Nobody in their right mind lives in Detroit. They move to the suburbs.

There is no way Altuve plays worst in the left field than he does at second base considering how seldom a left field has to make a great play. Too bad Correa isn't still on the team because his arm would be a non issue then.

I agree with this. I think Detroit and/or Toronto are in the $175M-$195M range and Bregman is sweating it out trying to determine if leaving “home” to go to a team less likely to win is worth $15M-$35M (after income tax considerations).

    FYI about Michigan.

Not only is there a State Income Tax, you might get income taxed where you live, where you work and where they cut your check. It happened to me and I was making trash money.

Other big issues with the Tigers. One, Comerica Park isn’t T-Mobile Park bad for hitters, but it’s a severe pitchers park that will suppress Bregman’s pull power. Second, Tarik Skubal is likely gone in two years with Boras as his agent and Bregman and Javy Baez’s contracts on the books through 2027. Skubal’s contract situation makes the Tigers a lot less attractive. What happens to their ability to contend if he leaves after 2026?
