I know time fly's but that Summer went by quick! lol He decided to just do more of everything he already does amazingly well to cement his star status. So I suppose that Summer jumper is now the bridge from perennial all-star to first-team all-NBA/mvp-level.

There is still the aspect of being assertive and positively taking no shet from opponents and friendly fire alike...while maintaining being a team 1st guy.....

Watching the game last night, I got the sense that Amen is maybe reading too much of his own press since Boston. He seemed to force some things on offense that he usually doesn't. Just needs to stick to what he does and he'll get better at everything. I'm sure if there is anything to this thought that Ime is on it. Not a criticism so much as noting the growing pains of good young players.

Yea he tried to go to the basket on 1v3/4 a few times instead of slowing down to set the offense. He also needs to take what the defense is giving him as well. I think it was Kennard who was at least 6-8 feet back in the paint just daring him to shoot the three or a mid range jumper

He needs to drink it more of his press. He is deferring way more than he needs to. We would have one this game if the fourth quarter belonged to Amen, instead of Jalen and fvv

Newsflash: the Spurs aren't good and Napoleon Chucksalot is part of the reason.

Nah. Player paying too much attention to the press is never a good thing.

I disagree with this take. I feel most of his looks were good looks last night but he missed a few easy ones. With Alperen missing there was a definite need for someone to step up.

He took a lot of shots that I’m fine with but there were a few bad ones. One particular in the 3rd or 4th where Memphis is basically set on defense but the rest of our guys are still getting back on offense. He drove into traffic and put up a lower percentage shot that he missed. That’s not a good shot.

Why do you think Grizzles face guard Green even when he doesn't have the ball but don't do it for Amen?

I know you believe Amen can be our 6'8" Ja Morant but at the moment Green is simply closer to being a primary ball handler than Amen.

Amen takes advantage of attacking non POA defenses. For example in his game winner against the Celtics, the Celtics read the play as a DHO play where Amen would be the hand off guy and Brown shifted his weight in anticipation for that potential hand off to either Fred or Jalen and Amen made the right decision to turn around and attacking the rim from the dho position. You see Sengun do this also sometimes. This made Brown backpedal off balance.

If you need a guy to attack the POA defense, Green is far better suited for that now. He can do dynamic things like split traps and navigate and maintain a dribble and get off a shot even when defenses are squared up on him.

Amen did take what the defense gave when he hit 3 of 4 mid-range jumpers.
He missed 3-4 shots close-in shots he normally makes, a couple of his drives were ill-advised and then there was the poor alley-oop pass from FVV that was sort of makeable, I guess.
I only remember one time he drove into a crowd.
He smartly passed up a couple of long range jumpers early in the shot clock.

A work in progress who's further along than I expected.
