Yeah, they were protecting the paint and was willing to give up the open 3. FVV took an open 3 right at the 3-point line - he just missed badly.

The Rockets, OTOH, on the last defensive possession, didn’t help. JJ is too good to not help on. I’d rather someone else take the shot.

Unless it was giving up a jumper to Kennard.

Well, here's what we know...he was not taking it in the paint (JJJ and Aldama are sitting IN THE PAINT)...can you pass it to the 3 pt. line with 4 secs ? Yeah I think so. Would Tari take the three or maybe take a dribble or two and put up a shot ? Maybe draw a foul. We don't know. What we do know is that FVV took the last 2 shots for sure (and maybe 3) and he missed..both 3's. He missed 8 of the 12 shots he put up and missed 6 of the 8 threes he put up.

Oh yeah...statistically speaking NO ONE shot 3's worse than FVV tonight.

He actually had a step back three (from JJJ) with 2.4 left that I thought was a better shot than the last three. Also didn't like FVV ball watching after he took the 3. He was out flanked on the play whistled as a time out....Amen was not and would have had a great chance to block the shot (if indeed there was a shot). Up by one and JJJ with 5 fouls a step back 3 wasn't the greatest decision. We never even TRIED to challenge in the paint. JMO.

Amen put fvv in a tough spot but not sure i like the ato. Would rather jalen and amen together, both can get to the paint with ease. I also don't mind the fvv 3, I just prefer a catch and shoot, not a dribble stepback. Lesson learned, on to the next!

I didn't see it as a choke...I saw bad decision making from a veteran PG on the last 2 shots ....instead of making JJJ who had 5 fouls make a decision on defending a shot in the paint..we take 2 threes. We only needed ONE point...in fact, the shot before last we were up a point.

Still proud of the guys playing short handed. FVV has been needed to school the pupils. IMO the pupils have now surpassed the mentor.

This is why they don’t put us on tv. When’s the last time we won a nationally televised game (especially TNT). Dudes don’t respect us and don’t even pronounce the names of our players correctly.

    Quick points:

    1. 2 horrible out of timeouts plays by IME. after 2 great ones in Boston.

    2. I get, getting the ball to Thompson...trust me... but the fact that ime is not drawing up the last play for Green at the end, the only person who can get his own shot and is our go to scorer, very troubling to me. Green has to touch that MF first. Not Thompson. Not FVV. No one else but him. FIRST ATLEAST.

    3. We are up by 1, why is the world champion, super vet FVV throwing up 3pointers? Does he not see the score. Does he not know how to penetrate and kick it to the wing? You have tari there, waiting, with a helpless Aldam or whatever his name is waiting to pick his poison.

    4. Horrendous interior defense. 72 Fu***** points in the paint. Fake Saquan Bane was driving with ease. No effort required. That was a horrible showing and the Rockets should use that as a learning moment for them.

    5. Why did Jeff Green play. This was the game that he should have played in off the bench. We could have used his shooting.

    6. We need Bari to get better and everyone else to remain healthy if we have any chance in the big dance coming up quickly.

    7. We are a sharp shooter or a true star away from actually being the best team in the NBA.

Also, WTF is up with Jalen fumbling the Rock every time he drove in today?

naw this was a good game. when was the last time you saw a competitive game on tnt? Think of it that way. They don't know the rockets because they are not supposed to be here yet. all 22 year olds.

We did not score a FG at last 2:00. Only got 2/3 FTs. And our defence was not good enough. I call it choke.

IMO, with just 8 seconds left, the Grizzlies made it clear nobody was getting into the paint. It had to be a jumper. If there was more time on the clock, they might have been able to get off a better jumper with another pass or two.

I hear you on Fred. It definitely wasn't his night tonight.

Hopefully they take out their frustration on the Nets Saturday and win by 40.

There was no reason to have Tate out there on the last play when we needed a basket. It wasn’t a defensive play. Him being out there helped to clog the lane. I would have thrown Reed out there as a decoy or even Holiday. I don’t know what Ime was thinking but just a horrible rotation and game plan to end the game.

Tonight really pointed up just how much the Rockets rely upon Sengun to make something positive happen when the offense stalls out, as it did for essentially the last six minutes of the fourth quarter, when the Rockets scored basically 4 points, and lost the game.

Sengun can not be our best scorer, but he is definitely our most valuable player cause when game squeezes, with his post game play, passing and creativity, he opens game..
