It doesn't matter. Trump being an awful individual that enjoys talking about the past and can't help but blame the democrats doesn't make it right for us to turn it back at him and blame him. We are decent people, so lets wait for the facts to come out rather before we just start blaming people.
What do u mean it doesn’t matter? How many people are going to eat up his words? They will set the narrative once again while Democrats cower in the corner he just signed an EO placing official blame on Obama, Biden, and DEI republicans can do anything, but Democrats have to play nice…y’all are still out here trying to play 2 different games and continue losing
You know if biden was president this would've been the talking point....literally When democrats are in power @AroundTheWorld rushes to spin whatever conspiracy he can When Republicans are in power we have to wait till the investigation Hilarious Democrats are cowards who live in a world that doesn't exist
We do need to find out what will the government do to get these critical positions staffed up. ATCs have been in shortage before Trump. https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/14/business/faa-short-on-air-traffic-controllers/index.html Looking up what it takes to be an ATC, apparently it's a few months of schooling, and then it's 2 to 4 years of training on the job. So if our country is already understaffed in ATCs, simply hiring young help is not going to get us to our goal as a country immediately. I think it's key to understand how many ATC's were laid off based on Trump's administration's actions? The next question is, do we need to reduce the amount of flights over the next few years until we are fully staffed? I know we have not had an accident in decades, but in the past couple of years, we've read about a lot of near misses at several airports, whether on the ground or in the air, and that's frightening as someone who enjoys traveling. We know that airlines are pushing for more and more flights since the industry is booming right now, but we are at a time where we are facing ATC shortages along with pilot shortages as well.
he has the nerve, and Democrats will let him get away with it by the time whatever investigation is done by Trump’s incompetent and unqualified nut huggers, the narrative that this was all the fault of Biden, Obama, DEI and *insert minority group will have long been set in stone and accepted as truth…and they will do this with every single incident during his presidency Democrats love to bring water balloons to a gun fight…the Democratic party goes out of its way to be weak
Dude are you paying attention? He's put a freeze on all federal hiring while offering esrly retirement for any government employee. He's doing the opposite of what you want him to do
Reagan fired almost all of the atc's in 1981 because they were striking. It took years to get back to normal
I find it absolutely disgusting, and pure ignorance to make the type comments he has made. He knows that there are plenty of people who don't know a thing about air traffic controllers, including himself, yet he ignorantly and purposely brings up pure BS DEI political crap in a tragedy like this. Like I said, that still doesn't give me incentive to start finger pointing on who is to blame for an aircraft crash and tragedy, regardless of which party I support. That's why safety investigations are so important in occupations where lives are lost. When accidents happen there are reasons, and all anyone can do is take those factors seriously, and try to do all they can to alleviate the problems. I tried to explain ATC briefly, but it is a very complex subject, and like I already said, errors never happening is impossible when humans are involved. Accidents are never 100% preventable. All you guys blame who you want. The right wingers can blame who they want. I don't care. I'm just not jumping on a bandwagon to point fingers.
I remember that well. I joined the Navy in 1984 and many of those ex FAA controllers were my shipmates. The thing about air traffic control manning is that it does take years to train your people, and it's a never ending cycle when people get transferred. There should never be shortages, because it's a huge safety issue. Politicians on both sides can't negligently and recklessly put saving money over safety. People get sick, people get stressed out, and people have other issues that keeps them from being able to work. If you need any medicine stronger than aspirin you can't work as an air traffic controller. When that happens, you have to have extra qualified controllers to do the job. You can't ever be short handed. If you barely have enough people to man the positions everyone is put under even more stress working without breaks, and that's a recipe for disaster.
If what you say is true (im not doubting you) and if it takes years to train your people then why offer early retirement at a time the agency is short staffed? Why purge the agency of thousands of individuals who you still need? The issue is the complete mismanaging from day 1 by Trump. Theres no need to go to war with the ATC when you're short staffed. Its insanity. Trump should be offering hiring bonuses and expanding employment. Instead he put a hiring freeze and shut the entire process.
Ah the old fake outrage and fake high moral stance again. Yes, I know people are dead. I did shed a tear for them last night. I’m very sad about it. Of course, you just attack Trump for it.
It is insanity. It's reckless and dangerous. Make no mistake though, the problem has gone on for decades. It's not just Trump being ignorant of the issues. There were already issues before him. But, that being said, a hiring freeze on air traffic controllers is an absolute incompetent and reckless way to save government money. I feel the same way about cutting safety and health inspectors and personnel in other lines of work where lives can be put at risk or people can die.
