Basically Trump found out the hard way that reckless decisions have consequences and reversed his decision.

DCA is stretched to capacity. There have been numerous runway misses over the last year. It's common to have long runway delays there or to circle before landing because of all the traffic. Add in helicopters flying around the area and it's a recipe for disaster.

 

Regardless we should not be firing air traffic control people when we have a massive shortage of them in the first place. We are firing people who we think are "dei hires" when we need to be hiring another 1k or so.

I think the most ironic quote from that post is when Trump said "We will forge a society that is colorblind and merit-based.”. All you have to do is look at many of his recent hirings in high positions to know that merit and colorblindness were not the reasons many of those people were gifted positions of authority. It's also not the reason he fires certain people.
