I think we have our big 3 in house, and we just need to be patient. If we’re going to use big money on Jalen/Sengun/Thompson and one or 2 of the other 4 it would make sense to have a solid first round pick every year that can turn into good cheap labor after a year

Kings fans are like “losing Fox will suck, but FVV and Amen Thompson is a decent haul”

Yes. I would be looking at starting FVV and Fox with Amen at a forward position or Fox and Amen as the guards with FVV as the backup.

I’m not cashing in our assets for Fox. He doesn’t move the needle enough on this roster.

Big game hunting only. Otherwise this team is too good to mess with.

And I'm not even scared if the Spurs get Fox. Bring it on.

It's disturbing that guys are already angling to go play with Wemby.

I used to think absolutely yes to the JG for Fox idea. Now I'm not so sure. Not only are we clicking with unbelievable chemistry right now, JG's numbers aren't actually that bad. His defense has vastly improved, his body language, dedication to winning plays, etc. Fox is shooting only 32% on 3s this year. For trade to make sense for Rockets right now, it has to be absolute no brainer because of how well we're playing right now

If Fox's shooting had stayed at the same level as last season I think he would be a no-brainer. As it is I can understand not pursuing him, the fit is fairly awkward with Jalen, Amen, and Sengun, who all need the ball in their hands a lot to bring their best value.

Even still, I'm tempted. Here's a list of 28-and-under stars/borderline stars in rough order of player rankings (I used to The Ringer's stupid list, don't @ me). I've bolded the players that I think have a chance to be "touchable" in trades in the near future.
    • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
    • Luka Doncic
    • Jayson Tatum
    • Jalen Brunson
    • Anthony Edwards
    • Jaylen Brown
    • Ja Morant
    • Devin Booker
    • De'Aaron Fox
    • Jalen Williams
    • Franz Wagner
    • LaMelo Ball
    • Tyrese Haliburton
    • Cade Cunningham
    • Trae Young
    • Tyrese Maxey
    • Jaren Jackson Jr
    • Bam Adebayo
    • Darius Garland
    • Chet Holmgren
I only see five players that I can easily envision being traded within the next couple of offseasons. Of course, things can and probably will change, and more young players will become "stars" (or nearly), and more players will enter the "bolded" list as perhaps some leave it. But, if we want to make a consolidation trade to do something with all of our draft picks, and maybe possibly send out one of Jabari/Tari in the deal to clear up that logjam--I don't see any players who are clearly better than Fox likely to be available. Better fits? Sure, Ball, Young, Maxey can all shoot it and play off the ball better than Fox can. Better players? Yeah, I don't know. Not seeing a lot out there for us.

Maybe we don't need to make a consolidation trade in the near future... maybe we can find another trade like the Brooklyn picks for Phoenix picks trade, and keep kicking the can down the road until somebody we like well enough comes available. I think I'm fine with that if it's the route we choose to take? I just don't think we can actually give mid-first round draft picks any playing time, look what's going on with Reed Sheppard, so I feel like we need to do something with our draft pick stockpile. If that were picking up Fox... sure, okay.

The other possibility could be getting involved in a three-teamer I guess. Would Morey send us Maxey if we got him Fox using our draft picks?

Absolutely. De’Aaron Fox is a more proven, consistent version of Jalen Green.

I’m happy Jalen is playing well, but it was less than a year ago that he was playing so poorly that him being moved at the trade deadline for less than optimal value was a popular topic of discussion among Rockets’ fans.

He probably on the message boards reading all the hate he get from Rockets fans saying he not even that much better than FVV or Jalen if that’s the case, lol. Fox been the one I want since beginning of the season. I hope he sees what could be over here and that the front office sees the potential.

They aren’t getting Amen. VanVleet, Jabari Smith Jr. and picks is realistic.

Amen can’t shoot threes either, but as we all see he can still get buckets and be a star. Shooting the three is not the only way to score plus he is one player on a team. We can always get other players that are good three point shooters.

First off, hope all is well!

Secondly, I really don't want to get rid of VanVleet. It's not necessarily a dealbreaker, but I feel like losing that steady veteran leadership would be a bad move right now.

Not interested anymore. Amen, Reed, Sengun and Jalen Will be the primary ball handlers and distributors for the next few years. Not to mention with Fred I see us reassigning him at a lower Number and him eventually coming off the bench.

you are already seeing FVV in a more softball role and it really works well.

Id like to bring in a shooter for a 9th and 10th man playoff rotation when Cam isn’t on fire. Olynyk or Brogdon work. Cam Johnson would be great if he would come off the bench, but I don’t know if the minutes would be there for him.

    Sengun/Adams
    Amen/Smith
    Brooks/Eason
    Green
    FVV

All is well with me. Thanks for asking.

Jabari, Steven Adams, Tate, Jeff Green and picks for Fox works. But, if Fox is acquired, VanVleet moves into a sixth man role, and Stone better be sure he’s on board with that for the rest of the season before pulling the trigger.

Don’t make a trade . We can’t mess this chemistry up this season . Losing Fred would make that locker room sad . We need to reevaluate after the season
