Come on. Clearly Sengun misses Jabari’s help defense. And the team’s defensive rebound took a big hit since Jabari went down. I’m not in the Jabari fan club but his addition to the team’s versatility is so clearly understated.
Not at all. Even if Tilman decided to actually spend, with the current CBA rules, it makes no sense to push yourself to the 2nd apron. It's just far too restrictive to roster building. Thats why those future Suns pick will be valuable. At some point the Rockets are going to have to make decisions on Bari, Tari, and Cam. No way we can keep all three if Green does stay on the trajectory of solidifying being a superstar. Right now, Alpi, Green, Thompson are your core and you need to build around them.
I don't think so man. For as good as Amen is, I don't think it's worthwhile attempting to make him a full time PG. The way he plays right now is what allows him to be so good. If you put him in a pure PG role, I do feel his game will suffer since the handles are just not there to handle the duties for a full game. I really really like the synergy that FVV/Green/Amen have found on the court. It allows them to play fast, but also keeps a steady presence on the court to limit the turnovers.
Need Jabari. Are we forgetting the leap he had taken with help side defense. What's fascinating is the entire basketball concept. you can only get away with 1 non three shooter in the lineup they said. Here we are scoring 200 points a night. Sengun Amen Jabari Green FVV (Brooks 26 minutes)
that first game back for Jabari and he gets the rebound and trying to dribble coast to coast instead of passing off the all is going to be really frustrating. one the most frustrating things to witness is that Jabari fast break where he’s the ball handler
I'm surprised how many fans dont understand how NBA rotations work. When Jabari is injured, his replacement isn't Amen. It's the 10 extra minutes Amen has to play and Tate that is replacing him. If you want to replace Jabari, it shouldn't be based on how well Amen is playing. But rather how well Jeff Green, Tate, and Tari Eason plays. Or in the case of Tari, how much you want to bet on him staying healthy. The Rockets success so far has been their depth and different guys pick up the slack every night. Giving away depth just so your favorite player can start is plain stupid
agree very much with this. Love the young core but decisions on who to keep for luxury tax purposes will need to be made and Jabari is being pushed down the list. While I like his defensive potential, rebounding and good potential 3 point shooting, he doesn’t seem essential for this team to win at least not in the near term.
And honestly, this is what was supposed to happen when they signed Brooks. Someone was eventually supposed to take over his spot. I hated the Brooks signing, but I really liked what he brought to the team almost immediately when they started playing games. I hope he embraces a bench role and sticks around. He would still be a force off the bench, and it’s probably his ideal role.
Screw the picks. We don’t need anymore . We need players. If we trade Jabari, it better be for a star. like Jabari, and Dillon for Bam
This season I started to notice how much athletic ability Dillon is lacking.dont remember it being the case last season but this season it’s glaringly obvious He doesn’t have the foot speed to guard a lot of guards and wings this season. He susceptible to all the bag moves on the perimeter by guards. And then offense the lack of athleticism shows up k his drives and his finishes. That alley oop tonight he blew would’ve been an easy finish for pretty much any of our other wings on this team. He struggles to finish above the rim this season.
I wouldn’t trade Jabari for picks because I think he’s a good player who’s only going to get better but picks are SUPER valuable in the new CBA. Hands down the best value contracts are year rotation worthy year 2-4 draft picks. Not every pick will hit of course but you can build a very solid team with mid lottery guys as your role players.
Because we won’t be able to keep and pay all of them. Decisions will have to be made at some point. Things are starting to come into focus a little bit. We don’t have to make any moves right now. But, we will before too long. The Rockets have just gone 8-3 without Jabari, with two wins over both Memphis and Cleveland. The Rockets are playing well, so maybe Jabari will be the odd man out down the road. We can’t keep them all.
Love Amen, and his ceiling is so high it isn't funny. But this is a dumb thread. We need at least 7 dudes who can really play, and 10 who can contribute. There is ample space for both Amen and Jabari on this team.
Some of y’all are funny. Just beat the best team in the league twice. 2nd in the west And y’all want to trade a core piece? Someone tell me why we would do this
