I think we’d have to include Dillon but I’d be willing to do that to open up time for the other guys.
We need to flip the mismatch by bringing the opponent's rim protector out to the 3PT line. That will create some insane minutes for Amen, Green, Cam and maybe even Tari. A little bit more shooting from the perimeter won't matter unless it's a feared shooter. Otherwise, please let's get a backup C to alternate with Adams who can shoot. If we're gettign Williams hard to say no to that but then please at least fortify shooting at another position yes. Some clear and cheap fixes for the Rockets.
I say trade FVV and all the Suns draft capital over to Charlotte for Ball. That team is perpetually hovering around the bottom. 2025 -2026 Squad PG - LaMelo Ball / Reed Sheppard SG - Jalen Green / Cam Whitmore SF - Amen Thompson / FA PF - Jabari Smith Jr. / Tari Eason C - Alperen Sengun / FA Suck on that OKC!
Amen has played some minutes at PG even if stat sites don't pick it up. I think on ball reps are on ball reps, and on ball reps with skilled players around one is more important than those reps being while the nominal PG with fewer skilled players. There just isn't a reason not to try to re-sign FVV with Bird rights unless one thinks being the nominal PG is more important for development than having guys in the right places such that correct decsions can be made. I'm not one that is for having vets for vet's sake. This has been a weird season for me to start posting a lot in the GARM again. I'm fine with Amen as the PG if he has skilled players around him. I just think it would be much easier to keep FVV on a ~25M AVV contract for 2-3 more seasons, and add a dead eye shooter at either a forward spot or SG than to move Amen to PG, add a dead eye shooter at either forward spot or SG, add someone that can be a backup PG in case Amen at PG doesn't work, and replace in the starting lineup FVV's defense, a good share of FVV's on ball reps, and as good an off ball player as FVV at either SG or a forward position.
He won't get us to the promised land. KD is skilled, but he was never able to lead any team to a NBA championship at his peak. He abandoned OKC and became a 3rd banana for GS.
He was never the 3rd banana don't disrespect him , those warriors team wouldn't win without kd vs rockets or LeBron, they needed him much as he needed them , can't blame a team to have the perfect cap space and perfect player fa at the same time
94 Houston was loaded, they . That 94 team was loaded with a big 3 yeah it's not name respect but Maxwell, Kenny, horry, cassel and 92 all star Otis, Otis was an important player Which Detroit? Even benwallace billups rip was superstars during that time.. that's 2 hof on the team and all star Rasheed Wallace that team was super loaded
looking back, the 04 Pistons team was loaded. At the time, IIRC only Wallace made All-Star that year. I don't think he was even close to winning MVP that year. He was DPOY a few times before the ship IIRC.
I’m thinking about the Timberwolves. Not that I think they are anywhere close to giving up on Edwards but what it would take to trade for Naz Reid? It seems like they will lose him in the off-season. He has a player option for 15 million and I would imagine he would get a good bit more than that on the market. I don’t see Minnesota making a title run with the team as constructed. Landale+Suns 2025 first top 8 protected and a couple second rounders?
