We've beaten both teams and we are not at full strength either. So, why are they discounting Houston?
Because when you watch us it’s painfully obvious that our offense is dysfunctional, and that on D, our two key young players in Sengun/Jalen are weak spots despite a great overall team D. This is a tough team to believe in as being a real contender
because houston hasn't shown they can back it up yet. they're the surprise team of the season so why would anyone respect them at the moment?
Those guys just announced their all star reserves and only Kenny picked a rocket. And he misspelled his name. He went with "Alperin" Sengun.
You think it’s disrespectful to think we aren’t true contenders yet? I don’t think that’s disrespectful at all. OKC is on a different level, and Memphis and Denver are way more experienced. We literally haven’t made the playoffs since 2020 and were one of the worst teams in the NBA two seasons ago. Let’s just enjoy that we likely will be good for a long time without trying to insert unreasonable expectations.
I will say this, it doesn't make a lot of sense that on the ESPN NBA website, they didn't have a damn thing about the Rockets win last night. This was about an hour after the game. Out of like the 3 stories about that night's action (thus far) the Rocket beating the top team in a CRAZY finish didn't make even the NBA front page on ESPN. What other sporting events or NBA games occurred last night with a more interesting story/ending?
No one thought the Commanders were contenders early in the season. They’ve continued to play great and have proven themselves as contenders which is what the Rockets have to do.
Kenny is an idiotic Houston so called legend.....who is ALPERIN? I feel Shaq has the mainstream Choices as usual. Charles has underrated AS of this season - Norman Powell and Jalen Green.
We're not contenders yet. More growth follows. More failing. Aint no shortcuts in this game, sun. The core hasn't even experienced an airball with 5 seconds left to win a game in the post season or getting blocked by a 50 year old Manu or 9 seasons of losing in the post season until finally winning it all at age 32 giving a city their first trophy. It's what makes the journey
This is perfect! Now we win the Championship without a single All-Star (well Fred but whatever) and the league has to suck it!
If the Rockets get to the Western Conference championship game I’m sure they’ll get plenty of attention.
