He sucks at 2B and is only going to get worse there so either way we are going to hurt defensively wherever he plays.

Depends on if he gets thrown 4 pitches right down the middle

In a "where to play Altuve" situation, the possibility of him spending time at DH has to be considered. It looks like an inevitability at some point in his career. Yordan played about 50 games last year in left, maybe he's capable of more.

Biggio in centerfield was more laughable...

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/60...agent-discussions/?source=user_shared_articleAstros re-engage in talks with longtime third baseman Alex Bregman: Sources

“The team’s longstanding offer to Bregman remains on the table, one source said on Thursday afternoon, but it’s unclear if the Astros will budge from the reported six years and $156 million it contained.”

    Take the deal Bregman

I think Boras/Bregman are getting desperate and are using the Astros as leverage but it would be ace to have both Walker and Bregman in the corners defensively.

Agree, it could be a tactic to remind other teams that if they want Alex Bregman, they’ll need to outbid the Astros’ offer, which is presumably still on the table.

“Discussions regarding Bregman have reportedly resumed in recent days, according to three league sources.”

The Astros haven’t made any public statements, so this could all be a strategy by Scott Boras.

Yup, Red Sox and Tigers have no pressure to go above and beyond their current offers if the Astros are out. Boras is using the Astros as a tool. I think he was just waiting for the right time..the Astros trying to unload Pressley to put it out there....More convincing that way.

I don't think leverage is the word other than "last ditch effort". Bregman wants the Astros offer to go up and he'll take it. I don't see the other teams offering possibly 3-4 years max and then suddenly be like, "Oh okay, we have 6-7 for you now if you want it".

Bregman will accept the Astros offer, he just wants to make sure of all angles first- which is his right to do.

Yeah, he was one of the worst defensive 2B last year. Don’t even need the advanced metrics to see that…it was obvious watching the games.

Putting him in LF will absolutely solve that problem.

....well... maybe? Maldonado and Verlander came back 6 months after they left...

Yeah he will probably suck out there too. My point though was he’s going to be bad defensively wherever they put him. Playing half your games at MMP, I think a bad 2B has a bigger impact than a bad LF.

Couldn't be worse than Evan Gattis out there...

Have you seen Tuves weak throws from 2nd to 1st? Yeah it would be horrific.

You may be right, I may be crazy.

I can't think of a perfect solution to this quandry.
