Feel like it will be hard to beat Memphis 4 times this season--they're going to really show up for that game. I think we can beat Atlanta and take at least one of the three against Cleveland/Boston. I guess 2-4 would be my prediction.
It's the toughest stretch of the season, and at a worst possible time, but I think we can go at least 3-3. For that to happen, Alpi has to stop bricking everything and Jalen getting back on track. Tari being back is huge, hopefully he shook the rust off and can swing a game or two our way.
whats the worry? we won most of the games we were expected to win and we won even more. If we are 0-6 againts better teams, so what? we were never expected to be 2nd in the west at this time at the begining of the season anyway...I think they are developing well...
That isn't actual snow. What you get in Houston is sleet. Snow is ice crystals that fall from clouds. Sleet is frozen rain. Anyway, the Cavs will indeed be arriving and they smell blood.
There has been a lot of roster instability for us over the last few games. It feels like between that and a few back to back schedule losses - we are in a bit of a lull but as mentioned above - Tari being back is VERY helpful once he gets back in game shape(has been a step slow in his return), having a well rested Fred will be helpful, having Adams back in the lineup will help too - he has been a very welcomed surprise as he is starting to return to his old form that we traded for. All in all, we likely aren't losing all 6 - but this is the type of pinch Houston needs to continue to double down on execution and valuing possessions. I know a lot of the pundits have suggested Bari is not part of the core and is the most expendable to upgrade the roster but I feel like his loss has been felt with this team so far. Hats off to how Adams has improved his game and Uncle Jeff providing quality minutes but I can't help but feel like we are definitely at a handicap when Bari is out.
Jalen’s hurt - Alpi missing bunnies - Bari’s still out - Adam’s is game to game ….. I’m hoping for split , alternating wins and loses - I don’t want another 2 game losing streak
I feel like IF our guys beat the Cavs at least once, it'll mean we're truly a legit squad and I'll be pretty much confident for the rest of the season. As it stands, this upcoming stretch will be a hard test. Jalen is a little dinged up, Alpi is most likely battling some fatigue, Jabari is still missing and I dunno which version of DB we're gonna get. It's gonna be a tough stretch but we have a tough team!
I think that a run of adversity is probably the logical next step considering what we’ve seen over the last 42 games. It’s time to trade Brooks, a first, and maybe even Whitmore for a serious upgrade. Eason or Tate can provide much of what Brooks brings.
I don't necessarily disagree, but I doubt they will actually trade any of the starters until at least the offseason. Teams don't usually shake up starting lineups unless something went really wrong.
So look at it this way. If we really lose the next 5, we'll drop in the standings and... that'll actually be reflective of how good we are as a team. Right now, fair or unfair, NOBODY thinks Rockets are actually the second best team in the West. Well if we actually are, we need to show that in the W/L column. If we're not, it'll show and in the second half of the season, we'll come back down to Earth and eventually finish the season 5th or 6th seed, valiant effort in the first round but head for offseason with real questions for the next steps.
Jalen is hurt? No injury reported at all. Every player in the NBA has dings and bruises. I hope you are not using some non existent injury as an excuse for Cade totally outplaying him. You seem like a pretty honest and level-headed person, unlike 7 or 8 others here. So I will assume you are just got some misinformation on any injury that will affect Jalen on Wednesday against Cleveland.
Yall said this when we lost to Miami and the Rockets had their strongest stretch of the season. Look, when we were a mid team I get it, but we're a good team that means when we play other good teams, including Boston and Cleveland, win or losing these games in a regular season setting is a literal coin flip.
I thought the stretch before and during the cup games was way more difficult. Especially since alot of games were on b2b.
I appreciate the thoughtfulness of your replies, and you seem to know something about reality that we don't. "If you don't see the day coming soon where several teams are above the Rockets...you are indeed delusional." Where have you come from? I know you have only just arrived on this board so I'm curious? Why are you here? Are you from the future? A Reed Shepherd Only Fan? I'm sincerely curious what sub-class of Rocket fan you might be. When you became a "fan" and why? Did you carpool here with the OP?
Not really since Jabari is out. Although extremely under appreciated Jabari is our starting PF and backup/stretch center. His sound, fundamental defense and stretch ability is sorely missed.
