It looks like the Rockets are lose the next 5 games: Vs CLE @ CLE @ BOS @ ATL @ MEM Right before the trade deadline too, how would the Rockets FO react?
Starting off the 6 game stretch getting raped by Detroit was not a good way to show everyone what the Rockets are made of. The next four, also against the East, could get very ugly. I am interested to see how the Rockets respond after they fall to the fourth spot in the West. On January 30th the "Rox"(always brings a giggle) play Memphis in Memphis. The Grizz will more than likely be in the 2 spot by then. It will be interesting to see what the Rockets can do against them. A loss, and the Rockets would continue to fall in the race for the playoffs. A win, could be a catalyst to get the train back on the tracks going into a crucial month of February for the Rockets. What are you Houston? You have a chance to show the world who you really are the next 10 days.
I'm just looking forward to watching the Rockets. Hopefully Alpi snaps out of it. If we can at least beat ATL and MEM, or steal one of the other three games, if we lose to Memphis, I could live with that.
Every team hits a snag, this might be ours. We built a big enough lead from the play in teams but we gotta win at least 2 out of 6.
Yea tough but most likely 2/3 for me. We are the shining star of the west with our young roster no doubt.. bright future. so..
We won't lose all of them, but if we manage anything better than 3-3 during this stretch I'll be very surprised.
It's better to know where we really stand before the trade deadline than after. If we lose 6 and squeak into the playoffs, this would change what sort of pieces, if any, should be pursued at the deadline.
The one thing we do know, is that the Rockets aren’t sneaking up on anyone anymore. Teams are revving up for the Rockets. The Rockets defense is real, and it is suffocating, so teams are amping up for the challenge. Are the Rockets going to lose every game against elite teams? My supposition is, well nope! But getting wins against the veteran and elite teams isn’t easy picking, and mental lapses will sink any chances of victory. Against the weaker teams, the Rockets can coast even if they are a bit of of sync on offense.
I appreciate the: "just looking forward to watching the Rockets." That tugged at my heartstrings a bit, not gonna lie. Why though, would the most important game of the stretch be the game you are most ok with losing? The 4 games against the East are not going to go well, that is a given. Those losses will also hurt your chances in the West race, but any loss to the Grizz, Nuggets, Clippers, Lakers, Mavs, is going to push the Rockets further down to spots in the West where they are just fighting to get in the dance. If you don't see the day soon coming where several teams are above the Rockets in the West, then you are indeed delusional. And I don't like to see that in a fan I now consider a quality fan. Every game matters, some more than others. Keep your head up, but don't lose touch with reality.
