CJ standing on business becoming a leader. Never heard him speak like that towards the team. These are things coaches should be saying. Then again, eating grass 8x will do that to you.
I think the entire offseason needs to be about the offense : are we keeping Slowik? What other coach(es) need to go? Once we know that, we need to decide what our offensive identity is. Then we can ascertain who does and doesn't fit that identity outside of CJ and Nico. All other jobs are open for consideration, including you Tunsil and you Schultz. The draft needs an offensive focus, and not just on OL. What we might have is a bunch of guys playing out of position if we had a competent OL coach. They need to work as a unit. We have next to no weapons though. Getting a cheap vet like Diggs or Godwin is a good idea. Then in the draft getting weapons like Warren or Egbuka in the first and maybe even intentionally grabbing someone like Matthew Golden in the 2nd doubles down on needing pass catching weapons. Yes, we need OL, but something tells me either FA or pre-trade deadline is how to fix what we can with OL. We keep shooting and missing on both lines early in the draft and we are far behind most teams in offensive depth. That has to be the focus IMO.
Plenty of people expected the Vikings to lose to the Rams, myself included lol Honestly, the entire NFC North was overrated. They played the AFC South and NFC West. Texans had no business losing that game to Detroit. Rams lost Puka and still took the Lions to OT in Detroit week one. Other than those two wins, the Lions beat no one worth a damn outside of the other inflated NFC North teams.
1st Tweet: Texans' bar for franchise QB is pretty low. The best QB Texans ever had was Matt Schaub lol. So CJ be aware the fans will tear you down as fast as they cheer you on. 2nd Tweet: No shiet DeMeco. The whole city saw it after like 5 games. Redzone execution was atrocious. 3rd Tweet: I mean of course he's going to say that. That's his teammate. Would only want Diggs back if he takes a team-friendly contract. 4th Tweet: Again, that's his coach. His OC. He's not at Aaron Rodgers where he can shiet on coaches. He has to say the right thing and supportive of his coach. Whoever they bring in for OC, i'm sure CJ will adjust just fine. They need a different QB coach imo. I've brought it up before, bring Case Keenum back to help CJ.
Do we get a big discount on Diggs since he only played 8 games this season and will be recovering from ACL injury? That, and he turns 32 next season? Will he even be 100% by preseason?
His defenses have ranked 25th, 22nd, 17th, 6th, 21st and 25th in points while in Cincinnati. And 30th, 29th, 26th, 18th, 16th, 31st and 15th in yards.
He rode that KC OT playoff win and SB appearance pretty far. Ballard couldn’t afford Saleh and is not creative enough to hire a younger DC. He and Shane know their job is on the line nxt year. So he went with the safe and uninspired DC choice.
