Damn I don't even remember Trump being corrupt enough to issue these blanket preemptive pardons at the end of his first term even when it was obvious a Democratic administration would go after him and his allies.
I apologize if this has been addressed but why has Biden pardoned so many people. It's not even close as far next total numbers
I think big blanket pardons are gonna be the new normal as we circle the toilet. It's a leading (and trailing) indicator of the dysfunction. There's plenty of dirt and corruption to go around.
This is the only way you can protect people from being intimidated for standing on the right side of history. Trump would throw Chaney and Fauci for them doing the right thing. Biden had to pardon them.
That looks misleading. https://abcnews.go.com/US/biden-pardons-2500-nonviolent-drug-offenders/story?id=117770887
Yeah it’s a signal that Biden knows the game is over for America and he obviously has insight that it’s going to be worse than advertised. If he’s going this far it’s likely that he knows the Trump regime is going to go all in but he thinks this can at least slow down their prosecutions a few years and get SCOTUS put in position to have to rule on pardon power which will slow things down a lot at DOJ. Trump doesn’t want his pardon power neutered and neither does Scotus so they’ll have to slow to a halt to rule on anything prosecutions this is caught up in. But yeah Biden is out of fcks to give and is giving a big middle finger on his way out. I assume we’ll hear about many fleeing the country next I assume which is crazy to even think about 8 months ago.
Biden's actions and his justifications open up Trump and the Republicans to do the exact same thing and justify it in the exact same way at the end of this term. BTW, take a look at the graph, Trump did not abuse his pardon power at the end of his first administration, could have, didn't.
