Ya night and day difference compared to his first couple of seasons. He's past the phase of his career where it's just about numbers. Now it's about winning. 28 pts doesn't mean anything anymore to him if he doesn't follow up with a win.
The next and most game-changing step for Jalen's progress is playmaking. Utilizing his ability to consistently beat his initial defender to make his teammates better. It's what the last great Houston SG did every single night. Under 3 assists is inexcusable for a player of his talent.
Another great game. It's the standard now. He doesn't just make his shots, he also makes smart plays and almost never tries to do too much. Becoming a seasoned star guard right in front of our eyes.
This ain't no fluke. Jalen has it figured out. He will come back to Earth on his 3 pt shooting, but he will continue to get to the rim and the FT line with the best in the game. The Jalen/Amen/Sengun triumphrate is setting us up for a dynasty.
If he gets his own shoe, and he makes the league lots of money, I have a feeling he will be one of the league leaders in FT attempts. As it stands now, he gets hacked a LOT and doesn’t have the annoying but useful habit of accentuating contact with flails
This is actually a really good point. Jalen's appeal to younger fans is through the roof. The NBA will help make him a superstar, just hope they don't send him to LA somehow or another.
We dont have the best shooters on this team. Jalen passes to the open guy, his teammates brick their shot, get the reb and then score. The one who gets lots of assists are Alpi and FVV cuz they do pnrs and pass to cutters. In Jalen's case you'd rather he be the one who cuts to the basket than making pass to the cutter cuz he is an elite finisher.
Problem is he signed with adidas. Nike runs the nba. He needs to switch if he wants a fair whistle otherwise in playoffs he's gonna get harden treatment
You know what 21 games is? More than a quarter of a season. More than half the season so far. That's a big chunk whatever you want to call it a streak, a stretch, a phase, a miracle, but for me it's a very good quarter of a season that can serve as a prototype moving forward. Includes highs and lows. Two more quarters remaining.
