Id have to go back and look, I think second drive they ran and got it to 3rd and 6 and then didn’t convert and had to punt. Well they definitely didn’t have to but they sure as hell did. On the previous drive they got across mid field and wade Phillips started calling the engage 12 defense. A screen would have been nice, although for sure sometimes a run play can break through and house those.
49 yarder - he turned loose to the safety looked like; There was another KC player open underneath, running a shallow route that it looked like Azeez was spying on. Kelce broke tackles of 2 Texans - including Azeez on that play. The Kelce TD looks like what I said. Looked like they were in zone. Azeez was Mahomes spy. He was waiting to see if Mahomes was going to run. Mahomes starts to go down in a sack and rifles a shot to Kelce. Azeez was up too far and turned back but it was too late. There are 3 Texans defenders in the area.
The Hunt family has deeper pockets than the McNairs. They're getting their "legendary" Chiefs dynasty one way or the other.
Slowwit is not getting any better. Why let him destroy another year of CJ while he’s on his rookie contract.
Texans could have traded more to get to No. 10 instead on No 12 in 2017 to draft Mahomes instead of Watson.
Find your own flight back...we'll put your stuff on the curb. He genuinely seemed apologetic, but taking your helmet off his HS. Not NFL playoffs.
Word was Texans had a deal to move up & KC got wind of it. Buffalo actually gave Htown a chance to match KC offer, but Texans thought they were bluffing / greedy. Remember some people thought Mahomes would slide to the 4th b/c air raid QB... Good times, good times.
Ya you just never know in the draft. Watson was as good/safe of a prospect as you could really ever imagine. He was a 10/10 in all of the off field/leadership stuff. Turned out.....he wasn't
Film study should be at the top of some of the players’ off season list. Texans messed up on little things throughout the season and it just exploded today. have to be more situationally aware (neck-up) That goes for the coaches, too
Caserío and DeMeco need to get their priorities straight or take a hike. All those FA defensive picks got us no further in the playoffs this year. All that money on defense, even though our weakest link was our offensive line. It was mediocre to terrible last year, and mediocre to terrible again this year even with far less starters injured. You know what matters on this team? Having an offensive line that can make holes for your running backs and give your quarterback time to throw the damn ball. What's the point of drafting a QB if you don't spend money to protect him and let him do his thing? What's the point of paying big money for Mixon if your offensive line can't block well enough for him half the time? Is it poor talent evaluation, bad decision making in FA acquisitions according to needs, poor coaching, or a combination of all three? Do you know what the Ravens, Bills, Commanders, Lions and Chiefs all have in common? They have the top 8 offensive lines in the league. Only two of those teams have a top 8 defense. Think about that people.
Both Washington and Lions WR and RB core have more playmakers than us - we have Nico and Tank .. Mixon is more of a closer than a playmaker
I’m not too mad of Kelce going off - even with him going off the refs had to help KC with 10+ points we hold them to even less with healthy Pitre, Ward and even Harris
I’m not saying he should stay, but I can see the Texans’ front office hesitating to give up on a second-year OC while instead shifting blame to the lower level O-line coach. Especially if they’re uncertain about potential replacements. While it’s possible things stay the same or improve, there’s also the risk they could get worse.
I said in a game early this season that Stover looked better than Schultz. Sometimes you have to cut bait on your highly paid underperforming players and let the next guy have a shot.
