If you can get KD you try. I would hate to lose Tari. Jabari can go. Obviously Green is not available

Let's be real guys, the Rockets are overachieving a bit this season. We've been very healthy overall and I really don't think we're truly the 2nd best team in the conference as currently constructed. Adding a Top 15 player of all time, even at age 36, could make us the favourites.

I don't want to give up any key guys like Jalen Green, Amen Thompson etc...but if it's Dillon Brooks + a few draft picks + filler I think this a slam dunk.

I'd be fine with losing Jabari as well. We have enough roll players and depth to pick up the slack imo

If we can get Jimmy Butler without giving up any of our younger core players then we should consider it

Jimmy Butler would just tank the vibes

people really underestimate how petty he is and how disruptive he could be

he does not want to play with Ja and the Grizzlies who are 3rd in the West…he does not want to play with Giannis in Milwaukee

He only wants to go to 10th seed PHX. Why? Because they will pay him max money

Unless the Rockets are about to pay him what he wants, what is stopping him from pouting? Winning? Places he could get traded to and be in a winning environment, he has zero desire to go to.

Im not giving up Jabari, they can have cam and reed as center pieces and whatever else gets it done as far as draft pieces and fillers.

Yeah, I liked the butler idea at first, but I’m agreeing with Reeko here more and more.

Yeah Butler is overrated at this stage of his career. He had a couple nice playoff runs, but he has also had some flameouts and has been underwhelming this season.

Personally I'm all for getting Durant as long we don't give up too much, but not for 1/3 of a season of an overrated ex-all star

I mostly agree,,, BUT what's to stop a team from acquiring Jimmy and then just trading him to PHX on / or before June 29, 2025 (when he can exercise his option)? You get to rent Himmy & then he goes to a team that is gonna pay him. Obvi PHX want him now to avoid wasting this season & that 2025 pick.

He then can go to PHX for his "new" $$$ + PHX now has access to additional draft capital to trade away to acquire Himmy.

Still gotta get Beal to sign off tho - unless PHX is moving Book IIRC. :eyes emoji:

You think Heat will give up Jimmy for a Crumbl cookie?

Suns want to overpay his ass and Butler wants to get overpaid and chill. But whoever team wants to rent Jimmy first needs to pay Heat to let him go, pay a 3rd team to take on Beal's horrendous contract AND convince Beal to waive his nontrade clause. All that for a rental? And Suns dont have assets either, they gave up all their picks, swaps and now even 2nd round picks.

Look above... apparently Raps are about that life.

Sorry: here is the link https://hoopshype.com/2025/01/17/raptors-hope-to-be-facilitators-in-jimmy-butler-trade/

All comes down to Beal tho... I don't know what you can give him to make him waive that NTC. Add another year? Take care of his family? Promise to trade him in the off-season? I just don't have any idea what you can offer him.

The whole thing pretty much hinges on Beal (unless Book becomes available - not likely).

I do think the Heat are willing to move Jimmy because (1) they are winning without him & (2) I think they just want him gone at this point.

Heat could just hold on to him until the end of their season (& PHX's season) IIRC to make a deal.

It all depends on how motivated Himmy is. If you promise him, "bring me a ship" and I will send you anywhere you want to go OR pay you myself = highly motivated Jimmy.

    Those baby mommas ain't cheap!

Thats a grand amount of nothing like how Rockets are liking Booker. There isnt even any attempt to see how they would facilitate the deal. They gonna take on Beal salary? For what?

I think Brooks has to be converted to a mediocre pick and a whatever contract, he's worth that to some contender that needs defense. If Phoenix prefers Brooks great but 3rd team is an option if they prefer an additional pick.

That pick + 2-3 picks from us + expiring contracts and fillers. Good deal for Phoenix for 2.5 years of Durant. They really replenish their closet of picks and can realistically trade Beal for a good player with the help of the picks. They can attach 3 picks to Beal while drafting one good big man for themselves. Draft is littered with underrated big men actually.

We'd still be sitting on 3 good picks and a swap for one more upgrade trade if needed. Come on if we're b50ish wins now then how is this not a contender:

    Sengun/Jabari/Landale
    Durant/Jabari/Green
    Amen/Tari
    Green/Whitmore
    FVV/Amen/Holiday

    Udoka

With all 4 starters around Durant benefiting from having to be more selective with shots. More spacing than ever for Amen/Green/Sengun - Durant and FVV are both elite off ball shooters. That is a killer lineup, I think 2nd in the West and incredible playoff/championship experience in the starting lineup.

Plus just the consistent space-creating 27ppg from Durant that would take our offense to another level. The kids would look great. If you wanna get really crazy with it? Drop 2 2nds to lock up Vucevic at backup C. Now you're talking possibly best team in the league. Good shooting and passing bigs to create immense space for Amen/Green protected by elite perimeter defenders.

With Amen, Jabari, Durant, Tari and FVV, this team is still going to be elite defensively. Green is pretty good too these days. That's a hell of a team and I bet Udoka would fancy his chances of taking a swing at the title this season.

We can't lose fvv at this moment , Dillon brooks Jabari cam and landale and 1 first not this year

Keep the picks but give up the swaps if needed

Get Durant and Grayson Allen and some center

Way amen sengun and green is cam and jabari are gonna be out when u gonna have to overpay Jabari or cams body language lowers his value then rockets gonna be force to just give him up for a 2nd round

Durant is the ultimate plug play, he can just relax with the rockets big 3 , Durant opens so much for green cause they gonna fear Durant regardless of his age .he's still super elite offensively

How about KD and Booker for both their picks back, FVV, Jabari, Cam and Tate

Seriously. The Clippers are overacheiving IMO
They make a more convincing trade partner for the Suns than the Rockets
